We got smoked at home. Won't be different this year. I'm the biggest USA team fan ever, but I'm a realist. If we win, go ahead and quote this post and make fun of me.

You guys remember last year, right? I was there.

Ferrandis is chuckling right now:

"I already said that I won't ride the ‘Nations this year. I know this track and you guys [Adam Cianciarulo and Justin Cooper], you are not going to understand what is going to happen. You are going to get passed by guys you never heard of before. It is just a track in The Netherlands that is crazy. It is the biggest sand you can find and I had a long season"

He doesn’t ride for my country so I don’t care. If I was French then I would care a little more.

Not many people think they’ll win. We all have hope and will root our asses off for them. But realistically France and Netherlands will be extremely hard to beat. A podium is realistic.

I think Roger mentioned a lack of a team feel at Red Bud. Apparently nobody was pitted together, even at practice tracks before MXoN. I think he was a proponent of going to Yurp a couple weeks before the race to train in some sand. He may have figured all this in as part of the equation in his selection. Has anyone heard of any of the team plans beyond the team intro?
This should answer most of your questions. I sat down with Mike Pelletier, Tim McAdams, and Christina Denney to discuss the team on Friday and what they have planned.

The week after Ironman, riders and some crew members are moving to Eindhoven and will spend time at Lommel and other tracks. A big, big element of 2019 team is unity because they know they've missed out on that, especially compared to what teams like the French do at the event.

Ok, I have written these guys off for this SX season. As all the "experts" know, there's no possible way to race MXoN and still he ready for SX 3 months later. Its impossible.

That means jack shit. Dude won a little 6 round beginner class 250 sx series and thinks he is big shit.

Ferrandis is saying no before he’s rejected. The french would not be picking him or Marvin for a sand event. Good riders but not sandmen

Hope they do well but I like how all the euro crowd picks all of the rest to beat us.
Sadly this race isn’t our biggest riders focus anymore.

You left off Frances best rider. I don’t know if you did that purposefully or you simply don’t watch the MXGP series.

It would definitely be more of an underdog story if they do. Eli is our best 450 rider right now and AC is our best 250 guy. Neither of them are on the team so how can you say that this is the best possible team America has?

I’m not shitting on this team, just stating that it’s not the “dream team”. Some of you get so blinded by patriotism it seems you can’t think rationally. The two fastest guys America has right now aren’t on the team, so please tell me how it couldn’t be better?

It can't be better. The Team USA Kawasaki manager won't let it happen that's why. It's an impossibility. Not hard to grasp. Kawasaki usa hates the MXoN and probably even kicks puppies. Its a "business decision".

You have 3 choices. Use this as another excuse "if" usa does not win like a sore loser. Root for the riders/companies that are representing our country. Or just go hang yourself. You have options and that's a good thing.
When was the iast MXdN Kawasaki Usa won?

Jason, please don’t roll the finish line jump this year.

Strong team. Good bikes.

Bummer the last 2 GPs are fly aways, would have been fun to see the US guys line up for a race or two.

Just more stupidity in the GP schedule though, finishing the season in Turkey and China/Hong Kong?? Having MXDN at a road racing circuit???

Yes. He’s a former world champ who looks to be back in form. He’s Frances best rider. I don’t see how it’s even a debate. We can debate between Musquin and Paulin, but Febvre should be a shoe in to represent them.

People are upset at Kawasaki for not supporting riders that wanted to go.

Also, I don't see why Americans should be upset about other countries teams(other than it effecting out chances). Your double standard comment is a little of a stretch.

Ferrandis ISN'T France's biggest star. Your point is irrelevant. Ferrandis isn't a former world champ, he isn't an AMA National champ- France don't need him.

If Gasjer was to turn down Slovenia, Cairoli turn down Italy, or Herllings turn down Netherlands, then you'd have a point.

And its kawys choice, like the country riders choice.

I feel about as good with this team as I would feel with any team we could send. Especially if they're going 3 weeks early to prepare. These guys are warriors, and thats what we need to take on the Euros in deep sand. Whatever the results are when the dust settles, you know these guys gave it their all.

Great team. Only change I’d make is slide Osborne to the 250 and put Webb there on the 450. They never do that any more though.
This. But why would we want to send the 3 guys that give us the absolute best possible chance at winning? Especially given how well we’ve been doing of late with the current strategy...

Zach brings it when its presented to him...I totally expect him to hit hard and fast come race day. He will be prepared and he will get to the front.

What an opportunity for Justin in just his second season to show his stripes. He can win this for us!

Anderson has continued to develop his race craft and speed since he crushed them with his last appearance...and then...well, got crushed.Pinch

I want to watch this team battle for that top step. Im sure they'll be rubbed raw at the end of the day but I say the sting of this battle will bode well on all of their resumes and remembrance in our little shrinking sport that dominates most of us in this season.
Go USA!

I agree 100%. Let's make this clear for fans. Training track and race track is not the same. Not even close. Like a swiming pool and a rough sea. Training is for fitness but if they want to be competitive they have to compete those 3 weeks. ADAC, Dutch Masters, what ever it comes.

Osborne is going to be on the gas... He'll absolutely be a handful for any country's number 2 guy. The only one with the edge in my opinion is Coldenhoff. I expect him to battle for race wins in Open.

Anderson is going to have it tougher than Maggiora for sure. I wish this team was going to Ernee next year... But 2 decent rides and at least 1 decent finish for Cooper and there's a podium...

I place this USA team on the Podium alongside Netherlands and Belgium. I don't know in which order.

i love the fact that they are going over weeks early, shows commitment on their part to be prepared. Hope they can train in some sand like they might ride in for the race. Bodies will be well adjusted to the time change and atmosphere. Plenty of opportunity to podium and even win.

What date are they coming over and do they have pre race plans?

The week before is a Dutch Championship on a tough sandtrack only 10min from the Assen circuit.
Would be a good warm up race for them and would be a dream for a Dutch motocross fans right? Woohoo
