tough one to call, the younger brother Shayne won a world titile, but Darryll got 2nd twice, they both won 10 GP's

titles dont lie tho, so Shayne probably gets the nod,

the youngest brother Damian rode GP and scored points, but never got the to level of his older brothers,

Chest protectors have no mechanism to prevent broken collarbones. I don't get why people think they help. They're really just roost protectors.
Wrong! Collar bones break very easily from a direct impact on the very point of your shoulder..ie...hitting the ground shoulder first. You did say chest protector though...so yeah those chest protectors that have no shoulder cups...especially shoulder cups suspended off the shoulder by suspension mesh and that curve over to fully cover the point of the shoulder...then yeah..best they can do is take some of the hit from a front on impact...bit its the digging in shoulder first that breaks most collar bones and a proper shoulder coverage protector will go a long way to dissipate that impact

Who was better out of the Moss brothers?
They're twins so doesnt really count. Matt was the more successful one.

4th and last Interview.

He didn't mention going down in the 2nd moto, so i guess his peak did just fall off.

Surely if Jett races sx next year they will want him to do East coast to have more preparation time, but you would think that Hunter would want to do the same thing for the same reasons , especially after being injured again..will we see both the brothers making their sx debut on the same track on the same day? Interesting!
From what you can believe coming out of Jett"s mouth ,he's done with amateur racing...just a waste of time for him..
On a side note...I just wish both of them would wear full body armour and lessen the risk of collar bone breaks...

Yeah it happens...but for the record Ive been riding and racing for 38 years and always worn full coverage armour and had a long list of nasty injuries but never had a collarbone or shoulder injury.
Just this April I had the scariest most high speed get off I have ever had...i was on my 450 and it was full noise 5th gear ugly! I ploughed the back 40 deep with my left shoulder and face..helmet was toast and my roost 2 left side shoulder cup is gouged right up and some of the fasteners that hold the inner padding torn out of the chest plate.
I got up with not one scratch on my shoulder and no soreness there..but my right wrist was broken...was very lucky

My response to those that believe in this modern myth that 450s are so fast...we ride so fast that we hit the ground so much harder that nothing can save you...is this!

Ok..its all gone to shit and you are on your way over the hangers and about to lawn dart shoulder first into the ground when suddenly God intervenes..freezes time and offers you a set of body armour with the suspension mesh that sits on your shoulder and that hard plastic shoulder cover that sits over that..
What do you do? Do you say "" thanks God, but its all good..I'll be better off hitting the ground with my bare shoulder""
What would you do?

Ive been wearing them since ..forever...copped a bunch of cracked ribs once because I accidentally left the armour at home and had a biggie....and got severe abrasions on my back another time for the same reason...
It particularly bothers me seeing young riders wearing nothing but a jersey out here at our local track...I often help with fallen riders, take their bikes back to their vehicle and load em up...
Lost track of just how many guys Ive seen bust a collarbone or shoulder on this track...and none of them were what Id call fast riders..none of them wearing any upper body protection...it is particularly galling seeing kids on 85's get hurt this way...but hey...I suppose they think they look cool....and hey....the pros dont wear upper body protection either!

Ha ha no! It was my first ever supercross...sx masters 1984 Melbourne Showgrounds....there is a spectator made video of that race on YouTube...very bad quality but taken from directly in in front of the quad jumps . Whoever built that track must have hated us! The back sides of those quad jumps were steeper than the up faces!
The carnage in the c grade races was indescribable! I wasnt hurt...dont remember if I crashed...I was probably too scared to try any of the jump combos!
I do remember being chuffed to be racing at the same race as Marty Moates Jimmy Ellis, Mike Bell, Guy Cooper, Craig Dack, Stephen Gall, Trevor Williams ,Jeff Leisk,Glenn Bell etc...it was awesome!
Id been as a spectator the year before and was determined to come back to race..
They did the whole Oz versus USA thing and all the stars did a parade lap in the back of a ute waving their flags...

I was there, as a spectator. I went to them all. Then went to the first one at the Tennis centre. My mate walked in, saw the track, then walked back out. I should have followed him. That was the beginning of the end of SX in Aus.
The showgrounds were awesome.

Yeah it was...the track was badly built and dangerous though...have a look at that video..just search Melbourne Showgrounds supercross, youll find it. Trying to see myself in the c grade 250 race amongst all the carnage , but the video is just too dodgy..

Marty Orchad (sp?), who used to own Top Gear motorcycles in Frankston, still might, used to race them all. He had the original video's, i borrowed them when i was working there. Was a while ago now, but I bet he still has them all

I remember him ..kinda..
Did they actually video the events? The thing thats on youtube is from some guy in the crowd way up in the stands...you can hear all the crowd around him ohhing and ahhing and laughing themselves sick as the c graders just went beserk in a crashing frenzy!.
Do you remember what time of year that race was? Im thinking I was still only 18..
Those days are getting a bit scetchy in the memory department now...35 years ago..😨😨
