Wow...2 motos into his career and he’s already written off! That has to be the quickest career ever!

Jett is also 2 motos in and has scored a top 10 (8th) you would think being the award winner and 2 years older that Jalek would of easily handled Jett...No?

I’d say no....
Jett had a mechanical at Loretta’s, or he would’ve won the Horizon award.

Hard Charger award for Jett? 36th to 21st is a hard charge. It looked like he crashed hard and still never quit. He was running in 12th before he crashed. Them boys got no quit in them.

Why does the mechanical matter for the award?

Nicky Hayden AMA Horizon Award, originally the AMA Horizon Award, is given annually to amateur riders who are considered to be poised for greatness in the professional ranks of motorcycle racing.

You give way to much weight to that horizon award. A lot of times things like that dont always go to the best. An anyways just cause your the best one day doesn't mean your gonna be the best the next day.

Out of the amateurs that are racing there the top two out of them (lawrence&mumford) are staying amateur

Lawrence has said he wants to move up and it will all depend on how he goes in prep for SX

IMO the best thing for Jett would be to do some SX training this winter but not a full-prep to race East Coast, then come out and turn pro at Hangtown. He has almost no SX experience right now, and it is a painful meat grinder to get ready.

Take the open 250 spot for hrc in the GPs? Then come over later. He’s 16 now, like he’s got all the time, would love to see him do that

They where all on GIECO bikes. Don't kid yourself these are factory riders.

They were under the Geico tent but they were not on the same bike.

Lawrence was always going to be the better of that amauter class that first moto ride back through the pack showed his speed and talent.
I was surprised at Mumford he done better than i personally expected, Shimoda was running okay before he wadded himself although I thought he might have been a bit further up the order and Swoll was as expected - consistent 20th place rider.

Hopefully Lawrence doesn't go back down next year he's got the potential to take it to a lot of guys next year.

Indeed.
By the way, IMO, almost a year ago it was already pointless, following his win at Assen in EMX2 (among others, ahead someone as Tom Vialle).

He won't be going back to Aus I was talking about the fact it's still not confirmed whether he's doing another year in the A class or actually going pro seeing he has never done any Supercross.

Yup, would be in MX2 for 2020, would have won EMX this year, and have 7 years to win the title, , would probably win it twice in 4 years tops.. IMO he sacrificed his own career to help his brother.

Jett was insanely fast and i dont think he had any humble pie (although i think he is humble and dont expected to win). His first pro race (he turned 16 last week) and he was charging from the back and passing veteran factory riders like alex martin. The kids fast as hell!

Jett was not on the same bike as sexton etc. He was racing the amateur bike which according to several industry people ive heard talking about it on various podcasts, is alot different than the GEICO factory bike. Get your facts straight.

This. Which is one of the things you have to factor in for Swoll and shimoda as well. They would have been on the factory bikes this week so maybe the factory bikes hurt them a little with not much time on them. Lawrence was good, Mumford was better than expected. Swoll and shimoda were underwhelming. But cmon, give the kids a chance to get their feet wet. They are racing guys that are in their prime age for racing (remember back when guys races the premier class longer than the feeder class?) and this was their first experience. The 4 of them will all be good once they shake the nerves.
