I've taken guys out harder than that for 5th place in novice class.

James is just damn lucky I wasn't in Reed's position. I would have punted his ass into next week if the opportunity presented itself. Everybody I know that's ever raced would have done the same damn thing too. Of course none of them (nor I) have ever tried that shit when we were being lapped.

I guess in this age of the internet all the drama is off the track. Those guys played way too nice for what was on the line. Somewhere Bob Hannah and Kent Howerton are sitting back and taking solace that their legacy is safe for another generation. Roger DeCoster is probably telling Reed about how hard Hannah used to plow into him back in the day. Reed probably feels like a pussy, but he'll cash his big fat check and snuggle up to Ellie's great big boobs and come back swinging next year.

.... and Larry Brooks will still be a douchebag. Just sayin.....

It was Bubba's fault. He ran into Reed. Bubba had the option to grab the brakes when Reed got in front of him but he chose to hit Reed and put them both in danger.

He may be called dirty, but he has by far the best looking women in the pits.

If James had said 'I shouldn't have left the door open.' he may have made a fan of me. I'm sure he's heartbroke about missin out there. As it stands, Reed let him off the hook and now has to live with it. I promise you, I've mistreated my friends {and been mistreated} much worse than that and then sat down to supper with them at La Carretta's in Bristol and laughed about it before burrito bombin' the losers all the way home.

Geez, these guys are racing for the freaking 450 SX championship. I actually thought he was quite civilized! All he did was taking him wide, one blip of the throttle would have taken James front wheel out, he didn't!!!

Seriously, he needed 4 positions between him and James at that point, Stewart would've done the same thing probably worse

Hell for a SX championship,10 years ago, guys would've try to cut his bike in half and the money was a lot less than it is today...

Rooster is right.
Wasn't a damn thing wrong with what Reed did, except that he was too soft about it.

and people wonder WTF happened to this sport.

That doesn't change the fact that if the Suzuki people are saying that Chisholm's deal was a takeout and wrecked Reed's race last week, then Reed's hit on Stewart last night would rank as mechanized assault and battery. Bottom line is, neither of them changed a damn thing. But it's a whole lot easier to look at the Chisholm incident and have some doubt it was an accident than the Reed incident. Reed went in there to make contact and hope Stewart crashed. I personally don't think that's a bad thing and I think Stewart expected it - but it's a little hard to do that in two consecutive races and then have your whole team whining about Chisholm' peccidillio.
For the record. I didn't think that Chisolm wrecked Reed's race. I thought he wrecked his lap and he certainly got into his head. Reed never recovered from it and made up ground. Past history shows it was unlikely he would have caught him anyhow.

But.... and this is a very big BUT. Chisolm was being lapped.

He had no place or right to get involved. What happens on the track between two competitors vying for a championship is racing. When a team member of one of them "WHILE BEING LAPPED" decides to try and impede the progress of the other rider is simply cheap bullshit tactics. Now if Alessi had done the same thing "WHILE ON THE LEAD LAP" it could be considered racing for position. It might be considered team tactics. It might be considered out of character (recent character anyhow), but it would still be racing.

What Chisolm did "when being lapped" was bullshit. Reed was literally right on Bubba's rear fender in that section. It was a blatant move by a rider who wasn't "racing for position".

If Reed had gotten a bad start and Chisolm pulled the exact same move while racing for position on the lead lap. Then Chisolm wouldn't have received a fine or suspension. It would have been racing.

Ok now that's funny.

Did Chad try to knock James down? Of coarse. Should he have? Absolutely it's for the freakin Championship. I can only hope that James would have done the same thing. I do believe James would have been booed and chastised endlessly though. IMO
