Hi!

Just bought an used Honda crf250r 2016 and a few days later I did to remove all plastics, skidplate etc. When I did that I noticed this, which the seller said nothing about.

I got ripped off yes, but can this frame be ridden or repaird? Or is it trash?

It's just on one side of the frame, no cracks but an serious dent.

Best regards

I would be going back to the seller that's forsure. Stuff like this confirms why I do not consider buying used motocross bikes.

Probably fine to ride but I'd have words with the seller.

The old steel frames did this alot. I would just ride it , it's not going to pull apart. Also what makes everyone think the guy that sold it even knew it was there? Not every one looks over there stuff. maybe it was that way when he got it and never looked..

Possibly ok to ride (I wouldn’t, but I’m super picky about my bikes). That said, the first time you need to pull the motor, I’ll bet the mount doesn’t line up...and if that’s the case, it means there’s stress on that area that shouldn’t be.

If the PO bought it that way, sure...but if he put on the skid plate, and the skid plate isn’t dented to match...

The skidplate was on, and on it there was no signs of any dents.
The owner said he changed the piston 10 hours ago and had the whole engine apart, so im pretty sure he knew this...

But,I should have asked him to take off the skidplate and maybe looked even more into it before buy. But if i can ride it during this summer that would be great

You might start shopping for a frame on eBay, etc...plenty of folks parts these out due to blown motors, etc. that way you’d have one on hand.
If you do go that route, keep the current frame so when you go to sell, someone doesn’t think it’s shady...you can show them the original titled frame and easily explain why you swapped.

I would give the seller an earful but still ride it.

I had a ‘03 cr250 that had a giant dent like that in the same spot think mine even had a small crack. Rode it hard for 4 years and sold it. No issues.
