Hey guys new here but I have been reading these forums to help me get my 87 Cr250 streaming again. It suffered from the all so famous corrosion issues in magnesium water pump housing. I read @jtracing6 successfully installed a 1989 Cr250 cover on his 1986. And stated that the 89 cover will fit 84,86,87,88 and obviously 89 cr250 models. He mentions “ fiddling with governor spring and little cup “ to make it work. I am unsure of what he meant and am ready to install the case but want to make sure I got everything right before I do go ahead and install it and avoid doing the same job 9 times haha and information and advice ya welcome thank you guys ! @jtracing6

Below are pictures of everything installed as I assume it goes ?

Marcus, go on eBay and see if you can't find the "Service Manual" for that bike. I found one on eBay and it's really helped me to assemble my 87 CR125. My service manual tells me everything about putting that stuff together. In fact, just did it an hour ago. My bike has the 89 right side case.

I think the 86 required fiddling because they used different cups / spring from the later models. From what I understand the 87 switches directly. You could look up the parts fiches on both and ID what year exactly the parts changed.
