KTM shock change.

Getting ready to replace the shock in my 2018 350. Is it going to be as big of a pain in the ass as it looks like or is there a trick? Someone told me it’s easiest to remove the swing arm....🤷🏻‍♂️

really not that hard... can remove it thru the bottom or take the subframe off and have even more room. I usually just remove the seat/subframe.

I do linkage and muffler.

I saw the KTM R&D remove the swingarm pivot.

Different strokes fellas, I don't care for that method or fumbling around pulling out thru the bottom. Couple extra bolts and the sub comes off with the exhaust and plenty of room.

Remove Chain, Undo linkage arm from triangle, undo shock bolt from triangle, undo 2 x 8mm bolts from rear brake master cylinder, undo swingarm pivot bolt, pull swingarm back, undo top shock bolt, shock will pull fall right out the bottom of the bike. Easiest way by far.

Easiest is to just drop the front linkage bolt from frame, remove silencer and remove the shock. If needed, just loosen up the pipe bolt that sits in the engine mount to get some more room.
