I am having a difficult time sourcing outer fork bushings for this bike. The worn stock ones I have measure 24.5mm in height, 1.6-7 mm in thickness, 43mm inside diameter, and around 46.2 in outside diameter.

They no longer have them from Honda and the only thing I can find even close is Race Tech 43202 P which is 43mm inside diameter, 2mm in thickness, but only 20mm in height. A suspension guy with a lot of knowledge says this space could cause a problem if it moves up and down under the seal.

Anyone with the 250 or 480 from 83 ran into this? If so how did you fix it? From what I can see this bushing is only for the 83 250 and 480. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I just bought some from CMSNL...looks like they have both OEM fork bushings in stock.

I had a similar problem recently with a set of 82 CR250 forks. There was no Race Tech bushing available. My suspension guy looked up a Moose part that worked fine. I'll see if I can find the spec.

What are the bushings made of? Can you buy 4 of the ones that are too short, then split the difference and have a machine shop cut them, so you can stack the two in the fork on each side, so they are the proper height?

It says the Moose Racing Hardparts 0450-0269 fork seal and bushing kit is compatible with the '83 CR250...I think I'll order the kit and try them.
