Lottery - anyone here won any decent $$$?

Our group got 5 out of 6 numbers ( missed the mega ) and it only came to between 5-6K $$$ TOTAL. Nobody hit on all 6 but several other people got 5 of 6.

Still better than nothing, but you'd think the payout would be better for basically getting 2nd place.

On Mega I hit 4 out of 6 and the 5th number was only 1 away from another hit. I ended up with $150 for the 4 out of 6. I got my ticket for the $220M though and I plan on winning this time. I paid the gas station clerk extra to print me out a winner.

A person here in dublin bought a €4.00 lotto quickpick ticket 2 weeks ago and scooped €14.5 million, Its been on the news here a few times that the ticket holder hasnt come to collect yet , they have 90 days and the clock is ticking, after that I hope they dont find it , gee would you be sick on day 91 finding it

My best friends dad was one of three people to hit the lotto. He ended up with 6.6 mil. He gets close to 300 thousand a year.

I have hit 4 of 6 twice for just over 50 bucks. I did win a Leatt brace from One industries and I won a Cornwell tool box(our tool guy did a raffle. I bought two 5 dollar tickets) retail of 1000.00 within a couple months two years ago

Lottery = Poor Tax

I'm in a pool at work. I don't want to be the one poor bastard left in this hell hole when the rest of those jackasses just quit showing up to work after they win.

My old high school buddy won 30k after taxes in a scratch off. 30k of booze, weed, cocaine, and playing pool at the local dive. Took him 6 months to blow it. He said it was a bad ass vacation. Now he's back to where he was before and doing just fine.

I won $12,000,000. Please don't tell anybody. I'm trying to keep a low profile!

15 of us pitched in $10 each & bought 150 quick picks. Hit 5 out 6 on a $20 million jackpot. We thought we had hit it big. Only thing, 1200 people hit 5 out of 6. We got $3k, $200 apiece.

I won $70 once. Probably cost me $500 annually to bring that in.

When I was 6 or 7 I found a scratch off ticket in a grocery store parking lot. Showed it to my mom, and it was a winner for 200 bucks. I was rich bitch!!!!

I bought a scratcher and won $50,000. Problem was I wasn't paying attention and I got hit by a car and lost the ticke................ Um, wait. Nevermind, I've never bought one. I know two people who split one of the early California ones, $23.2 mil ea. They didn't know each other, two separate tickets. One was my best friend from when I was littles father, the other was a bagger at the grocery store I went to. I figured the odds of me ever winning were really bad. The father did good with it, helped out his family and some older neighbors, built a new nice but not outrageous house, lived to take all 20 years of payments. The bagger bought a new Vette and promptly wrapped himself around a tree within a couple of months, game over.

Actually I guess it was 25.7. My friends dad died 3 or 4 years ago so I guess he almost made the 20 years.

She only got $400, but we were shocked that they even paid off. How can they pay money when they only have advertising to pull the $$ from to pay out?

We have bought several lottery tickets and not won a thing. Came close to winninig 2,500 in a scratch off. We had two of three needed to win. We will keep trying though maybe one of these days we will get lucky.

One thing is for certain, you can't win if you don't play. I probably only spend around 40-50 bucks a year. I usually buy $1 quick pick on the big one when I fill up my gas tank.

I'll tell you one thing, when I DO hit the big one, I'm moving to Bishop!

I usually get $5.00 worth when I fill up in Missouri. Arkansas doesn't have a lotto yet, but we're working on it.

I may spend $60.00 a year on tickets...I piss away much more than that on "dumber" things!

I do about the same as Void and Huck. The lotterey in Colorado has done so much to help the state.

Nearly $2 billion has been returned to the state for parks, recreation, open space, conservation education and wildlife projects since the Lottery started in1983. Conservation Trust Fund
Local parks and recreation providers – towns, cities, counties and special districts – receive money from the Conservation Trust Fund (CTF) in proportion to their population. More than $48.9 million was distributed through the fund in 2008 for open space and land acquisition, equipment purchases, facility development, park maintenance, and renovation or restoration of local facilities.

Colorado Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation
Colorado’s 42 state parks use Lottery money for trail construction and maintenance, land acquisition, equipment and facility purchases and maintenance of state parks facilities. More than $12.2 million was distributed directly to Colorado Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation in 2008.

Great Outdoors Colorado
Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) gives money to projects across the state that impact communities. Funds have built trails, helped open recreation facilities, preserved ranchlands and view corridors, improved and expanded river quality and access, and conserved wildlife habitat. The Colorado Lottery is GOCO’s only funding source, and gives GOCO 50 percent of proceeds, capped at $35 million in 1992 dollars, and adjusted for inflation. If this percentage exceeds the adjusted $35 million cap, the remainder goes to underfunded public school districts to address facility safety issues. In 2008, the distribution to GOCO was $53.1 million.

School Health and Safety
When the Colorado Lottery joined Powerball in 1992, the distribution formula changed to include funding for school health and safety issues. Referendum E mandates that GOCO receive 50 percent of Lottery proceeds up to $35 million (in 1992 dollars), with the spillover being used for the Public School Capital Construction Assistance Fund.



*GOCO was caped at $35 million in 1992. Any funds in excess of that go to the Colorado Department of Education, Public School Capital Construction Assistance Fund. Since 2002, $45 million has been distributed to the Colorado Department of Education.

Cyg...that's why I'm looking forward to the Arkansas lottery. We voted it in, but they said it could take 2 years before it's "up and running"...

My problem is I have to buy in two states. Missouri has the Powerball and Illinois has the Megamillions. I guess that doubles my chances. I've got my chances whittled down to 1 in 1,253,943,241,435.92 playing 2 lotteries at once.
