The boys on the 85-125s really like it. It's fun on a big bike too - that loam is about a foot deep in most places. This place has bottomless clay/topsoil without a single rock in it. Once you rip it deep, then till in the sawdust and wood chips, it's like chocolate cake.

Got to enjoy the fruits of my labor this afternoon. Very possibly the best loam I've ever ridden - it felt bottomless in the corners and you could do no wrong. Simply amazing.

Desperately looking to get some extra track time in besides the weekend MX parks. Anyone who wants to let a lone wolf come ride their spot, I'd be more than happy to pay. Just a dude itching to get more saddle time in after a long winter hibernation. I live in West Linn. Thanks in advance.

FYI to all Oregon riders, Riley ranch is open this weekend, pretty fun place that’s only open a couple times a year.

Yeah, I’ve driven by there a bunch of times now. I thought it was just a karting place though!

Yeah I have been by and ridden Pat's acres, kinda scrapped together little track, not much at all in the way of grooming or prep or track design for that matter... head out to Riverdale for now

Yea it’s a hard to get any info. Took me a solid effort to figure out what the deal is. The short answer is yes show up and ride Saturday 10-2, no Sunday. They have a Facebook page where they post schedules, “coos bay rider association”

Track is super fun and usually prepped really well.

I wanted to get back to you on this. I finally rode for the first time in about 7 months the other day at Mountain View. The dirt was a big change for me, coming from Michigan. I haven’t ridden anything that hard packed in probably over a decade, maybe ever! It was super fun though. But I ran into a guy on my way home that said he’s doing the track work over at Pat’s Acres. He said it’s going to be much wider and around a mile long this year, and that it may be open this weekend. I live only a few minutes away, so I’ll update you on that if I can get out there.

Since this just popped back up in my emails, what/where are some tracks near hillsboro? My buddy and I have always ridden trail only, but now we're both starting to like tracks more.
Any good options, relatively close?

The Publics are Albany MX, Washougal, Riverdale, and Mountainview. Woodland is near but is winter only.

That's really about it, unless Pat's Acres improves like said above.

Oh yeah, PIR for Thursday Night Motocross. Iconic and fun, but not a practice venue. Pretty much race only.

I rode Pats acres a few times last fall. Was fun but definitely needed some reworking. Stoked to hear on widening and making it longer. I only live 20 minutes from there myself in West Linn, so I'll be checking in on it to get some extra motos in. Washougal Sunday for myself.

I’ll try to get some footage with my relic of a GoPro. Don’t expect much for speed, but just something to get you a view of the track. I can’t wait to get to Washougal too.

Ok. I just got home from Pat's Acres. I'm not really a fan. I did take a couple short gopro videos, but all you see is handlebars so it's not even worth sharing. My opinion is that I took one for the team here. They are charging premium track rates and I've literally ridden much better backyard tracks back in Michigan. I felt the need to support the local track though... $35 plus a $20 yearly membership, no flaggers, no water, and even though it was supposed to be a fresh build from last weekend I didn't see much in signs of prep. Plus today was a drift car event there, so for half a lap every lap I was breathing nothing but burnt rubber. I live about 6-7 minutes from there, but I'll be heading to Mountain View, Albany or Washougal much more regularly unless I hear about big changes here. If the price was more realistic this would be a different story. Negative Nancy rant done.

Thanks for the report. I got sick on Friday and was going to ride Washougal this am but woke up still feeling not in a good spot to put myself out to Moto. Then I thought about going to Pats to at least check out the 'new layout' and get a few hours in but just couldn't muster the energy. Glad I didn't. I hope they continue to realize that its a great opportunity and put the work in that's necessary to make it a legit alternative to other world class tracks in the region. How were the jumps? Last time I was there the rhythm of how jumps came out of corners and the simple design of them left a lot to be desired. Still going to give it a shot in the next few weeks but after feeling like crap this morning and ALMOST loading up, I would of been bummed to arrive and pay the money to probably load up and come home after an hour. Pats acres may not be groomed to perfection, but that’s what I like about it. Every time I’ve been there I get in more seat time than anywhere else. Sure; it’s not the most dialed in track , but it certainly is challenging. The lack of flaggers and classes make for a great day of riding. If your end goal is to challenge yourself and become a better rider I personally feel that it is one of the better options in the PNW.

It just occurred to me this is the same track I drive by countless times every day. I live in North Plains across from Pumpkin Ridge and have access to a private track as well (built by the same guy that built this one, I believe).

I've been meaning to stop by. I need to make some upgrades to our track and could use some ideas. I really like your layout.

Ours needs a rework right now. Been trying to get a dozer and tractor out to fix and redesign some stuff, but been too busy riding. Right now it's hardpacked and not very good. Smile

That’s fair enough. I just think their rates are pretty unrealistic for what they provide. Like I said, drop that price or at least water the track and it would be a whole different story. Any time spent on the bike is worth something to me though, for sure. I had a very bad headache and that most likely influenced my review, but my opinions stand. The key word there is opinion. There were other people there that seemed to be enjoying themselves more than me.

No problem. I was feeling pretty rough too. I think I was pretty dehydrated from a hike on Saturday, so I had a really bad headache and only spent about an hour and a half at Pat’s. The jumps are ok, but I agree with the flow. I will go back out eventually. Hopefully if they keep getting more people they’ll put more into it.

By the way, I’m sorry for sidetracking the thread so much with this.

Doesn't look like I got any PMs. Who knows. Not the strongest feature of this site for sure.

I had to switch to Firefox, disable AdBlock and do four cartwheels... seems to have worked.

I’d love to come turn some laps there, I live in forest grove too, I’m willing to help out on track maintenance. The west side has nowhere to ride, I’m not into woods or trails.

Hey Guys

I just had a great track built on my property and I'm looking to get some riding buddies that want a cool
place to ride in exchange for some help in maintaining it

Its a beginner/intermediate track - no doubles or triples - just tabletops and nice sweeping berms. I have an
11 year old who is just starting to ride so I wanted to make it kid friendly

Lap times are around 2 mins....

I've got a few requirements but I'd like to meet a few moto-friendly families that want to ride in a safe environment
without worrying about getting run over

You don't need to have kids of course but you do need to be respectful

PM me if you're interested and lets talk
Thanks

Hi guys - I'm the OP
My track unfortunately is suffering form lack of use and it has become a "unadilla-style" grass paradise

I vow this year to make sure that it gets used and am still looking for a few guys to share it with who can help out with track maintenance etc

PM me if interested and just to reiterate a few of my requirements

I'm trying to work with the owner to get a dozer/tractor weekend set up. It's dry and hardpacked right now, and needs some TLC before it's really worth riding. Been too busy riding myself at Mountain View, Albany, Washougal and PIR to work on it. You know the great PNW - when it's good weather ya gotta get out.

PIR Thursday and Albany MX Saturday for me. Washougal again next Saturday - it was killer this weekend.
