Shocker: MXGP of Hong Kong cancelled

Round 19 of MXGP, Hong Kong, has been cancelled and there will be no replacement. Championship now consists of 18 rounds.

This comes after the other Chinese round, MXGP of China (Shanghi), was rescheduled from May 1 to Sept 14-15 of this year.

Intresting to know the actual reason for it. Weird since they are still a go for 2020.

Personally I didn’t care having the last race of the season in Hong Kong, or have it being a fly away at all.

The Chinese promoters are going to hold a visually similar event using low grade materials, and hire average racers dressed like Pros.

I agree. In his defense he has done some good things to grow the series, and the TV package is slick. But some of the choices on tracks, locations, the timing of the schedule, etc. make zero sense. Lets go to Asia in the rainy season, or go to Qatar and pay people to watch the race. And Motocross of Nations at Assen? That's a total joke, what a let down. Will the US even be able to cobble together a C team to go race there? As long as I am venting, can we get rid of Lisa Leyland? Her voice is like nails on a chalkboard! Rant over. Looking forward to the race in Italy this weekend. Smile
