Check out the last year of GOLD (barrick). It had a crazy spike that would have paid off well if someone would have timed it right.

I wonder what the heck caused that?

Best day I've had in a while (mostly due to TSLA). Knock on wood.

Getting closer to filling the boats.

I sold my MDR just as it started going down, but filled the boat a little early with DNR. And now we wait....

What do you guys know about DNR? I can't find much news on it....looks like the analysts are negative on it in the short term, with some growth coming in 2021 and thereafter...

The China news at the end of the month could make the market tank or pop, so it's a tough call right now as to where it's headed.

I’ve been buying and selling DNR for about 5 years now. You can pick any number of comparable oil and gas stocks to try and play. Nothing special about DNR really. I work in oil and gas industry and know this company pretty well. They are heavily weighted in oil production so they tie pretty closely with the ups and downs of oil prices. They have paid down some debt, but still have more on the books.

There is risk in this stock for sure. It’s pretty volatile and there is a definite possibility of bankruptcy. We just described about 80% of small cap oil stocks.

I like DNR for a long play. I’m buying in 1000 increments between $1-$2 a share. I currently own about 20k shares with some dry powder to layer on about 15-20k more shares if I want. I may lose it all but on the flip side, if this stock can just weather the storm a bit, and go back to $5 or $6 a share where it’s been recently, then I can just about pay off my house. So for me this is a gamble that’s worth it. But yeah, still a big gamble no doubt.

Which solar? I have a few different solar stocks and nothing bad with any of them today. (RUN, SPWR, FSLR, TSLA)

Hope that don't pan out! This week was brutal for me.

No risk, no reward. I hope it works out for you. I'm thinking the market is due for a big correction in the next year, so I'm going to keep my eye on DNR and maybe jump in the game with you if it gets down closer to it's 52 week low.

How much are property taxes in Texas? I figure a nice house can be had in a nice area of Texas for 600k?

ACB took off again over the last couple days. I bought some just now. Surely it will start tanking tomorrow.

Also DNR is creeping back up. I put a pretty good amount in there. I'm probably not using the best strategy, but I'm just trying to buy low and sell high and then reinvest my profits. Atleast that is my strategy for these oil stocks that tend to be hot and cold day to day.

I also bought a 2/3 position of ACB today.

I am no big number cruncher at all. I have decided though I won't buy a stock with
a high debt ratio.

Off the balance sheet, take a co's total Debt divide it by their total Assets.

I think anything over about .70 is high.

Ford is about .78
Dollar General .60
Face book .07

Of course if your day trading, it doesn't matter.
