Practice starting gate help

From my research the Risk Racing starting gate is $300 and has a high failure rate. Most videos show people having to operate them by hand.
Chaparral has the Unit Racing starting gate on website available for order but cancels back order and refunds money after 30 days due to zero availability.

This industry over produces everything except something that makes total sense to improving your race craft.

Any help is appreciated.

I used to build a powder coated bent tube welded manually operated single gate with a lifetime warranty.
Couldn’t give them away for $125
Gave up.

I used the Risk starting gate for my son and I for about 5 years no problems, just sold it to a friend. (My son isn’t racing anymore and at 53 I don’t need to practise starts ?)

Our risk gate has been great after 2 years. The reason people do it manually is because they forgot to charge the batteries. I spoke to Risk on day about them needing a plug adapter so you dont have to worry about batteries if you have power near by.

I built one myself (welded up some box tubing) and used an air cylinder to operate. I hooked up an air valve and can stand behind the rider to operate. Works fantastic!
