The logo looks like it belongs to some spam website that is pretending to be the actual Supercross website.

Is there a reason the "e" is chopped off like that? Usually designers have some dumb story to tell about the reasoning for these things.

"The Omaha Blue lettering represents the excitement in the air that fans feel when they enter a Supercross stadium. The angled "e" reveals a triangle shape between the "e" and the "r" to represent a Supercross jump. The "r" overlapping the "c" represents the fantastic close racing that you will experience at a Supercross event."
Verbatim from the "unveiling" video:

There is one name, one symbol that unites us. Its color, in keeping with the world's most sought after motocross racing, is the world's most popular. Its character shapes, like the design of modern racebikes, have been painstakingly engineered. As it is on the track, fluid turns, combine with angles and cutting edges and true to a sport on the forefront and riders set for the gate drop, its letters always lean forward. Such is the distinction of a new symbol for a sport defining of greatness and a growing fanatical following always ready to answer its calling. A new look, a new season, and a new champ of greatness to be crowned. Monster Energy Supercross an FIM world championship.

Backside facepalm to switch stance eyeroll.

The "E" follows the angular direction of the top left of the "R' after it. Dumb decision by the designer IMO.

First time I saw it I thought it looked like an F and thought Surfercross. There's obviously the little nub at the bottom to technically make it an E but at a glance yea, it looks like an F.

The first goal of a logo should be to make sure it’s easily read. Big fail.
