SG-12 & Mobius Braces

I'm looking into buying a pair of SG-12 boots and the Mobius knee braces and have a question about sizing.

The SG-12s fit up to a 22" calf. Mine are 19.25". If i wear the braces, that measurement is going to increase. Does anyone know if this combo is going to work?

Though I can't say for sure, the brace is pretty low profile on the bottom. Now I could do a circumference measurement before and after to see what the increase actually is. I run the two and never have had a compatibility issue.

I think you'll be fine. The area that actually sits in the boot isn't very thick. I run both without problems but I have skinny legs

The increase is what im curious about. Because im only a few inches from the max calf size without pants, its a bit of a concern.

Idk if this helps but I happened to have a tape and my braces close by.

Seems like they add about 1/2 inch to your calf but there's also a bit of plastic that sticks up maybe a 1/4 inch.

So if my hillbilly Oregon mathematics are close I believe it's somewhere between 3/4" to 1" added to your calf size.

It is your calf measurement that may be the issue, as I am sure you already know. SG12s are good up to 19" but it starts to get tricky from there.

Mobius braces are also the best choice for bigger guys IMO.

The two together may be an issue. I have studied the calf circumference issue quite a bit, and learned this: after a certain dimension, the shape factors in considerably. Some guys with a 20" calf will fit a boot while others with a 19.5" may not. If are are taller, or your calf muscle length is shorter you may be good.

The measurement above is shy, braces add about 1.25 to 1.5 inches to circumference.

You are past the point where it is a certainty. If I were selling them to you I would clarify this one as a "we know that we do not know".

I have a set of sg12’s and the möbius braces, I’m 6’ and the braces sit above the top of the boot

The ideal thing is to go to a dealer and try them on. Cant find any that has both in stock. Let alone size 13 boots.

I guess as a plan b, are there braces that are pretty short or have an even thinner profile? I watched rocky mountains knee brace video. The leatt x or evs brace looks like it might work better for me as they seem shorter.

Im only 5’10”. Short ass legs

Understood. But, I would try sticking to your original plan to see if it can work, as I think that combo is better than your alternatives. I am not sure it will not work, just also not sure it will.

for all its worth im 5'10 as well. I have super short legs. Its funny when I try to swing a leg over my 450.
I run mobius braces and tech 10s and they fit great together. I wear a size ten boot. I think you will be fine. Order from rocky mtn who has a good test fit policy. Also the guys over a mobius are awsome. I rock large braces with med straps. I sent them in and they resized them for free. You could always call an pick their brain.

I've got a pair of SG11 and i'm fine with the braces. Had the opportunity to test SG12 in a test day at my local track.. asap gonna get them. Best boots i've ever used. Gaerne produces awesome boots, and they are super resistant. I have done more than 120 hours on my SG11 and they are pretty much new..
