#1 Villopoto
#2 Alessi ( I think him and Villo will be close)
#3 Windham (He would be my first pick outdoors, but hasn't raced that bike and is kind of mental about bike set up)
4-8 would be Dungey, Short, Grant, Lawrence, Langston (I would have put Langston 2nd as he went out on top, but not sure how his injury will effect him)
I can't wait until Glen Helen.
Wait, i forgot Hill throw him in the top ten for sure.

I think I am most interested in which KW will show up and how the time off will effect Langston. Not only was Grant the champ, but he was running guys down including Alessi , without good starts.
I would say that the first round holds a big value on whether its Alessi or Villopoto. To me supercross doesn't hold much value anymore (as far as the nats are concerned.)
First off we have some heavy hitters that do their own thing during the summer, and I'm okay with that (especially this year.) Lawrence hasn't won a national yet. While I'm a fan of his, I don't see him having two motos as opposed to a season of his best. I just don't see it...
Alessi has proven his worth and the fact that he is a man in this sport. He left that amature shit behind years ago. He has supercross skills as well, but I don't think his heart is in it. He usually has his worst laps in the middle of the race, which we all know isn't based on fitness. He'll be fit and ready for 09. If he can find that drive that he had last year his second at Glenn Helen will be a first.
Villy is a big "if" for this year. The kid has done it in the lites, but I don't think it will be so easy for him with a big 450. I would look for the first round to have an effect on how Villopoto does this year. He has also had an effect on the Alessi family. If he runs away with the first nat, I will admit that I was wrong, but Alessi isn't the same guy he raced in the 250 class. He has always favored the 450, and he has given fans reason to agree.
Villopoto has to prove himself this year.
Beyond that, Ferry, Shorty, Windam, and Millsaps have to prove their ability to go faster. Last year there was a big "vet" battle and theese guys are awsome. I just don't think that they hold the speed to hang with a properly primed Alessi this year.
alessi has shown what he can do....and if
he's healthy he will dominate.
RV doesn't look right to me...time will tell.
everybody else....won't have as good a shot
as mike does, i think.
windham...nope, not hungry enough to hang it out all the time
ferry...no chance
milsaps...nope.
short...maybe
jlaw...has the speed to win it all, too bad you need other shit though.
but that's why they hold the races...let's get reeeeeady to rumbleeeeee.
2. Alessi (tell you the truth can't pick it between the top 2)
Anything after this is wide open! But if those two stay injury free they will definately be 1 and 2 come end of the season.
it would be a hard choice, but he can't run the little" two fiddy" in the 450 class. With that being said and remembering back to last year before Aless got hurt it was only Alessi that could run stewarts speed outdoors so I have no choice but to go with #800 for the
outdoor title.
250 - Dungey / Metcalfe / Searle
450 - Alessi / Short (consistent) / RV
America has riders to be very proud of. The series is amateur in comparison to GPs. That's why top guys don't even care for it (plus the unhealthy 2-season per year schedule).
The GPs have better parity, better organization, way better media, and MXJiff.
Grant would be my pick for who I'd most like to see win.
Pit Row
"I see nothink.........."
The series is Windham's if he WANTS it.
But, realistically, it's say:
Villopoto narrowly beats out Alessi who gets a bunch of moto wins (and holeshots) and crashes out once or twice.
Third goes to Short who will finally win a moto or two and be right there in third most of the time.
Grant will show flashes of brilliance and maybe win a moto but he'll crash hard and have some 10th place finishes.
Millsaps will start good most motos and fade back to sixth or so.
The series will be great.
07 was a prime example and GL came out on top.
Any of the above mentioned could do it but the one factor is consistency.
24-35 minute motos bring on way more variables than 17 20 minute mains.
I personally like short if he can get that tricep & confidence up to 100%.
RV & 800 MAY have a little speed on everyone but some bad blood and youth could get the best of them.
Poto should be there
Grant and Langston will also be there
