I also contacted Technical Touch in belgium for this kit for a ktm 016 500, had a kit sent out to OZ ,,,Top Custom service , after doing the research this is best kit on the market , mine are going in 4CS with coatings top and bottom , i can't wait to test them , i run open chamber with gold valves and custom tuning they work ok set up very soft , but blow right through the stroke on big hits , so this cartridge setup will give more bottom resistance and still retain a plush ride over the chop ,
so you says this kit can be made to work on 4cs forks also ?

Yes he thought i had open chamber at first ,but after i explained i had a pair of sxf 350 small axle 4cs forks he wrote back, quote from technical touch , Yes that won’t be a problem then!
With the 4CS, we have tested it in a sxf bike and that fits without any issues, also the length is similar.

We are always cautious to just assume that it fits ‘all models’ because for example if you mount this kit in a WP XPLOR fork, the length of the fork will increase with 22mm so we had to machine other parts to make up for this difference.

This is the best money I have ever spent on my bike. I have ran this kit for a few weeks now and it’s made riding a lot more enjoyable.

I’m tempted to buy a 2019 ktm and this kit will be going straight into the forks.

The way the bike turns now is fantastic, it was fantastic before but the air fork give me zero confidence. I can now ride through the chop and it’s comfortable instead of killing my hands

yes i read your coments before ordering the kit,KYB sets the bench mark in suspenion , i rode a 2014 yzf450 with tunned SSS aos and was blown away by the plushness and yet still had bottom resistains i like, the kit was desined to retain factory fork to frame flex relationship engeered into KTM bikes,, WP / KYB hybrid fork kit is the way to go ,

I run a set of Dal Soggio Spheres, and also have a set of AER forks... For pure comfort it's hard to argue against the Spheres. Even on my practice loops I'm still the only guy in the 35min's as everyone else is running in the mids 36min's. I really looked hard at the KYB stuff as I have way too many suspension parts for the KYB stuff, unfortunately at the time the value wasn't there.

That being said, I really have a love hate with the AER. I can race with them and in the right conditions they have to be the best fork going, but when she gets rough the AER forks do let you down some...

I asked this local bike mechanic suspension tuner that specializes in KYB the same question he is also a cross country enduro racer , Ohlins / Spheres /kyb,, he said the öhlins dont hold well in the stroke, he likes the Spheres more, said they are pretty good but he said the KYB would be his choice he runs KYB A spring forks , worked out cheaper with KYB kit , as it comes setup by technical touch to your weight and riding style with springs and oil and billet feet ,and i never hear anyone complain about KYB sss aos, Tubes should be back soon from japan soon then i can test them on my 016 500exc

So far I’ve found out you can carry way more speed into a corner With this kit, you think you aren’t going to make the corner but it does.
Also I thought the air had a habit of pushing on the exit of a corner but the kyb cartridge kit does not do this.

This set up has given me huge amounts of confidence.

I rode a pretty hard pack track yesterday that was bumpy and it handled everything very well.

Thats the answer I was looking for. I was going to have my AER's revalved and hope that would take care of my issues I have with them, but I might just skip it and go this route.
If you're not liking the air forks don't bother with the revalve just do the conversion.

Great to hear all these awesome remarks about the conversion kits!
If you guys need more info, just hit me up at the Technical Touch info address or here on VitalMX! Cool

@Dave, do you have update on your 4CS conversion? We now recently launched the XPLOR and 4CS version of this conversion as well with different spacers and spring perch lengths. Minor differences but just more correct in total length to come closest to original geometry.

@craig, thanks for starting this thread! Hope you are still enjoying your set ;-)

Thanks for that.

I think a friend of mine has already purchased a conversion kit from you guys recently and he’s ready to test them this weekend.

I now have the kit installed into my 2019 ktm 250sxf and the bike is absolutely fantastic to ride. Once again the kyb cartridge kit is predictable and won’t give you and strange surprises.

Can’t fault the kit at all. Best money I have spent on any bike.

Have you guys any updated settings or any additional things that can be added ? Just out of curiosity because I get asked a lot when I’m at the track. ??

Hi mate Yes Diego ,i had the 4cs tubes coated and assembled we then run on dyno for base line,, a i installed them in a 018 ktm 500exc-f ,only have 10 hours on them so far ,they dew for oil change and inspection ,,, super very impressed ,just as i ordered , soft plush enduro valving over small chop ,but they can take the bigger hits and jumps, the hard you push the bike the better the forks feel ,i have more confidence and they less fatiguing for a old vet like me,, Dave ,

The 21mm more travel feels more stable at speed,,nice on open grass MX track , i can slide them up in the clamps if needed for more technical trails , but the longer stroke works well on the 500exc on the more open flowing faster trails

Dag Diego,

Zie link.
Bedankt

I can understand you guys speaking your freaky deaky Dutch .... I am joking! I am first generation American from Dutch parents and if I sound out the words and add my fathers accent I understand about 80% and then just fill in the blanks!

I am more than likely going to purchase a 2020 FC350 once we make it through this nonsense and interested in the KYB conversion so I am trying to learn as much as I can before I have the motorcycle! Are there options with the TT conversion and will it come valves for my requirements and ability? I am confident in working on suspension can i do the work myself or should I just go through ENZO and have them do the work? Any additional info you can provide it will be much appreciated!

Bedankt Diego!

Hey,
Same here, I am going to buy sxf450 and already planning kyb conversion.
For translation you can always use deepl translator. I will also have the lower tubes dlc coated. TT does not do that .

Any idea what the main benefit of using the wo tubes is over kyb tubes? I remember chad reed decided to go with wo over the kyb tubes but what is the main difference? I have the kyb a kit but also have wo tubes I could use if I really feel the difference is worth it

Hey, i don 't understand what you mean with wo tubes, but i think you mean wp tubes.
It is pure a cost factor. Reusing existing tubes is cheaper and no downside.
