Why do you have to ruin a perfectly good thread with this? Its already impossible for him to be the GOAT. He have a perfect season? He go undefeated never losing an outdoor title? I fucking love JH he's so next level takes the stats and nicknames and stow them appreciate what we are watching. That clip gave me goosebumps no joke

Lol, at the same age RC had more PERFECT SEASONS than Herlings has 450 titles. How quickly people forget...

RC didnt have the competition that Herlings has.
Lol, are you being serious? RC went 24-0 against a prime Windham and Reed, that's incredible no matter how you look at it. And for the most part, he regularly handed Stewart his ass outdoors. You think Herlings is that much faster than Bubba? Because I don't.

Herlings was in the 250 class for SEVEN years and he won 3 titles. RC was in that class 3 years and he won 3 titles. I know Herlings has had way more injuries but that's part of the game. RC was in better physical shape than everyone and he rarely got banged up.

I mean he hasn't even won a 450 title yet so even mentioning him in that conversation is pretty disrespectful to all the former greats, not just RC.

I think we will see many similarities as JS career, great achievement but also many ‘what could have beens’, early days.

I know he hasn't but don't let it ruin your day.

If you want to play that game, where are all Herlings' Supercross titles?
And I seem to remember RC absolutely smoking Everts at his home track while on an inferior bike. I also remember World Champions (Tortelli, Reed, etc) coming over here and getting dominated outdoors.

Also, with the group of riders in the AMA during that period (RC, Stewart, Windham, Reed, Vuillemin, etc) the AMA was definitely the superior of the two series at the time.

Reed a worldchampion? When? Tortelli getting dominated? His first season he almost lead the whole outdoor season or do i have this wrong?

Cut the crapp with that bs of a sx , nothing more boring to watch then sx.. remove it from the calender. They should come over to ride the mxgp to become a world champion and when that's over.. taking a holiday and the euro riders should go ride the ama nationals in the america to earn a national title... that will be something to watch but it's never gonna happen....

I was being sarcastic about the Supercross titles in response to someone bringing up World Championships. Please don't take that comment seriously..

My bad on Reed, he finished 2nd in his rookie year to Pichon (also a badass on a bike). The very next year he was in the States. Also, Tortelli gave RC a run for ONE season and that was before Carmichael went crazy with his training regiment. Even without the injuries, Tortelli wouldn't have gotten a sniff of RC from 2002 onwards.

i used to be one of the biggest haters of this dude, but you know what, he is doing things that i never thought possible. i will go ahead and say he's the best motocross racer right now by a long shot. Eli is in beast mode right now, but i feel like Joffrey would hand him his ass. only time will tell, but i wish we could see them slug out a full season injury free.

You're a prime example of my original post, constantly proving that RC that is the GOAT. We all know he is & will be be for a very long time if not forever, so if someone says that Herlings is the best ever, learn to chill out.

Same here. I used to hate his cocky attitude but he's matured into the best rider of his generation. He has it all; speed, strength, determination, dedication and technical brilliance.

By "constantly proving" you mean occasionally correcting people when they say a rider who's never won a 450 title is the next GOAT? Lol, yea I'm really going crazy there...
