I got lucky on this one and found it on eBay, it was a random find.

I think I just get lucky and find this stuff, I really don't have any secret method but it does seem like it I guess.

I decided to completely eliminate the side wings on the OEM glide plates. With today's tracks being over prepped 90% of the time I felt the extra protection was not needed and I was able to save around 1/4 lb by getting rid of them (for free) There just aren't that many rocky moto tracks these days so it just makes sense to get rid of the extra material.

In addition to that, by trimming them and drilling holes in them it not only makes them much lighter but it also makes the bike much easier to clean.

Here are a few pics of the finished product.

Here is what they looked like before I trimmed the "wings"

The TM's have A LOT of case bolts holding them together so replacing them all with Ti is a lot of work but the end result is worth it.

FYI... KX100 Flo Pegs with YZ Springs works great. Just need to grind the stops a bit and they fit like a glove!

TM should have you on payroll for all the R&D you’re doing! So clean!
That sounds like a great idea to me Laughing

Wobbly does some Kart work with them "back door" - and has both beaten factory TM in natl level events with his TM motors - and helped them beat the competition with some innovations he had come up with - smart dude.

Bummer you couldn't tour - It's on my list - but I bet the rest of your experience there was worth it!

Curious what spark plugs you use? Standard or R series?

After some really tedious acid etching and media blasting to strip the rainbow colors off the Ti pegs the final result turned out pretty sweet. It was really, really hard to get the colors off and I am fairly certain that they were not anodized as I originally thought. I am 90% sure that they were PVD coated (Ti nitride) based on the difficulty I encountered to remove the color.

After stripping and blasting them I put a satin/polished finish on the perimeter of the pegs to make them look a bit more like a Factory Honda peg because the design is almost an exact copy of them.

Some special machining was needed on some specific hardware in various places on the bike. Below are some before and after pics of the bolts.

These lower footpeg bracket bolts are required to clear the custom Ti pegs.

These are some special bolts I made for the upper chain roller.

Custom low profile Ti kickstart bolts.

TM is very careful to downsize the hardware anywhere they possibly can on the 125/144 models to save weight and the kickstart bolt is a perfect example of that.

Finally got the custom domes in today for the VHM heads. These things are trick and they have some significant differences from stock.

Here is a pic of the cooling passages on the VHM head for the 250 compared to stock. There is definitely much more coolant flow going on with the VHM head.

Here is a pic of the blank dome for the 144 before machining.

You still looking for a better reed valve? (CNC milled aluminium) Maybe I can help you into the right direction. Shoot me a PM.

VHM makes the domes and they offer them in many different volumes but you can also get blanks so tuners can make custom domes for different applications.

Finally starting to put the 250 together.

Today I got a chance to get the head on and adjust the PV cables. I got rid of the allen bolts on the cylinder head and replaced them with Ti hex head bolts so they would be easier to torque and the heads would not fill up with dirt.

I finally got some time to work on the bikes again and mounted the modified radiators on the 250. The billet filler neck requires a Japanese style cap instead of a Euro style so I switched it out for a high pressure version.

I decided to bump up the countershaft sprocket to a 14T and soon realized that isn't as easy as it sounds. A small bit of machining is required for the larger sprocket to clear the slider locating tab on the front of the swingarm. I had to remove approximately 2mm of material to make it work.

I am still waiting on suspension parts to finish the 250 but I wanted to get a few heat cycles in the motor prior to final assembly. I was able to get the rest of the bike together enough that it would at least run.

Ha ha... I think I will pass on the aluminum axles. The stock axles on the TM's are a really light taper-wall design that is much lighter than most to start with.

If you have the chance can you look at the fork lugs and tell me if they match yz lugs? I have a brembo caliper I want to put on my yz and want to see if the tm hanger will work.
