I am looking for a 54mm cast iron piston ring. If anyone has one laying around, any info would be appreciated.





I have a clean '86 Cr125 that this will be going on.

Is it different from a stock 86 ring? Going on an OEM cast Honda piston?

Do you have a part number of the ring you need? I have this big box of assorted Honda pistons and rings......

If I am not mistaken, I am in need of a cast iron ring to work with the chrome bore of my Mugen. The oem CR had a steel liner with a chrome ring. Chrome on chrome is a no go from my understanding. Wiseco had made the iron ring previously but I have not been able to track one down.

Either Wiseco or OEM. I believe the kits were able to run the OEM piston. I have to option, just depends on the ring.

Try to figure out a OEM part number for me and I'll see what I have. Get me an OEM piston number also and I'll see if I have one of them as well.

As far as what type of ring in what type of cylinder, I've heard conflicting stories on that. Maybe give Millenium Technologies a call and ask them what they think. They also have a direct line on piston and rings.

You are correct. I'd give wiseco and wossner a call and see if they can set you up with a cast iron ring, if not you could have the cylinder re lined so you can run a chrome ring. And your last (and best) option would be to sell me the cylinder and head. Lol.

That second ring number sounds familiar. Will try to stop by the shop tomorrow and verify. If so, that will work with your bore?

Well, here is what I have. The piston on the left, a 13102-KS6-702 is a 54.25mm over size. The piston on the right is a 13120-KZ4-000 in a 54.0mm standard size. The pin diameter on the KS6 looks to be 14mm dia, the KZ4 15mm. Other than that, they are pretty much identical in height and skirts. I have several of each piston if they are of use to anyone here.

Rings, I have a whole stack of the 13121-KS6-831, 8 total.
