I love what you did with your engine, but I really never got the point of those Boyesen covers.
Something that really looks factory goes without saying.
They feel to me like a hot girl wearing a "Hey, look, I'm hot!" T-shirt.
Not very subtle IMO...

Exactly why I ponied up the extra coin for a Hinson cover Smile

I dig those... Its a perfect color to not take away from the wheels from afar and look trick up close. What color is that?
Gun metal grey. The picture really doesn’t do them any justice either. I know Dubya does them out west but I used Clayton since he’s local and an all around good guy. Got my spokes through John at Dubya though.

Trust me....if I coulda got my hands on a couple of Hinson covers, I’d gladly choose that over these. But hey, it’s still better than stock.

How well does this hold up? I’m not talking about a lorretas bike build that they race 3 times. For like a gncc bike that is gonna get beat up. Would it last 1 season?

I would love to see some photos of well used Cerakoted parts.

What does it look like when it chips, scratches or wears through?
Someone must have some old coated parts with a ton of time on them.

If you split those cases you should superfinish all your bearing journals. Throw the gears into the Isotropic superfinish machine for a flash cut, probably gain 1/2-1 HP plus less heat/friction. I have always wondered if the factory teams ever carburize thier journals and superfinish.
The factory teams use a Microscopic Shot peening process, superfinishing is like a polish, the process listed above is somewhat sort if a effect that strengthens the metals, and makes them more tolerable and friction lez. Now doing both is probably beneficial on some parts.

As much as I hate the look of my plated FMF pipe, I hated constantly cleaning my PC raw pipe. Rains too dang much in
Washington. I'm curious about that as well but, in clear over a raw PC or OEM pipe.
