reed runs with bubba for half the race, then he fades away. time for reed to stop being a sissy and get in there and start slammin plastic and banging bars. nice guys finish second.he needs to talk to hurricane hannah. bob will set him straight..its time to show why you run the no.1 plate. not time to be a sissy..

It was a pretty steady fade from start to finish, couple of tenths each lap.

Reed is solid, never been much of a fan until this year. I wish a few other of the riders w/ crazy talent had half his heart!

I saw a different race. It looked like Stewart started out with a couple blistering laps that got ahim a couple seconds on Reed, who then found his groove and traded fast laps with stewart (who threw down a couple laps Reed couldn't match to get to about a 4-5 second lead), then Reed bobbled on one lap and decided it was best to let this one go. I don't think Reed's out of shape, his fastest laps at daytona were late in the race.

Reed only needs to win 2 of 7 if Stewart doesn't bobble. Stewart did what he needed to do, Reed did what he needed to do if he couldn't win. Stewart was faster by just enough. The odds of Stewart throwing another one away are greater than Reed not being able to get at least 2nd every week.

Not to mention JS had his game working tonight, I'll wait to watch it tomorrow, but I'M 100% SURE fitness was not a factor.

Chads usually has a good last half of a race he never usually fades, physical fitness is not his problem

Reed a sissy, eh? Uhh...let's see you get out there and run those lap times. Laughing

Reed's strength is consistency and at least being on the podium. So far, it's working.

Reed is 2nd fastest, simple as that.

first of all my lap times are slow. when i said reed fades away,he seems to give up and lets bubba get away. he has the speed and endurance to beat james. sure,he is very consistent, but if he dont win anymore races this season and james wins the rest of them, its over. james wouldnt think twice about taking reed out if he had to.and that reason is that james wants to win.

I agree, but I think Stewart is the more exceptional one of the two and I'd like to see him win. But if Chad wins he'll have earned it.

Who's in 1st for the championship race?

Who's defending champ?

Any similarity to the Bradshaw and Stanton days?

Factually, one could logically argue Reed has a valid approach.

It's absolutely a valid approach for Chad to do the best he can and see if James beats James. It's happened before. The pressure is on James.

Championship pays the same regardless how he wins it.
3/14/2009 9:30pm
When you watch the race, watch how they both are hitting the turns. James was using the whole berm, Reed was running in deep and trying to square it off. That was the difference in this race.

Reed did everything identical to James after the first lap, except corner.

Ya can't really call Reed "2nd fastest" and expect that to be an insult.

Nor can you say "slower than bubba" or "doesn't hang it out" and call those insults.

Reed is pretty much a top 10 (more like 5 or 4) best dirtcycle rider there ever was.......with a small irrelevant history of not taking responsibility on the podium interviews, or giving roundabout excuses when he was beaten by the greats (but always a gracious winner)

Those are the facts. Is that so fucking bad?

He also was probably cheap in the past but who know's, maybe now he pays more and spreads around a little more cash?

Reed's cool.....and more and more people are figuring it out. Even me.

There is no room for facts around here Wink ,just derogatory comments about riders that most here have no real idea about. WTF do people expect Chad to do throw it all away with plenty of races to go just because "The internet People" think he should ? James is lightning fast but he makes mistakes, and if he does Chad will be in a position to pounce. Yeh right Reedy's an idiot and has no clue what he's doin Grinning

If this race was earlier in the season or if Reed had an insurmountable points lead....that would be the time to try and race Stewart bar to bar.
With the points position he is in now I see taking second and staying on two wheels as a smart move.
My opinion is that wide open, go for broke Stewart has him covered......I only hope they go into Vegas tied in points and they both have to buckle up and twist it.

Reed needs to be very careful now because he could crash and finish like 15th and he does not need that, better to be finish second when he has the points lead.

Stewart races to win and Reed races to finish. Reeds approach will not win him the title.
