Finally had a little bit of free time and was able to get the bike torn down the rest of the way. Had a little bit of trouble getting the swingarm bolt out but other than that things went fairly smooth. Hoping to get the frame cleaned up tomorrow. The frame has some dings on the lower frame rails. Any suggestions on how to take care of those or should I just leave them alone?

Anyway, I'm still not sure about who I am going to have port and polish the cylinder and head. Anyone have any experience with this and who would you recommend? I am currently thinking Pro Circuit or Harris Performance but I am open to other options if someone thinks there is a better choice.

Also, my kit suspension arrived and it looks to be in awesome shape. They were set up by Enzo for a YZ250 with someone who is similar in size and ability to me so I am just going to have them resprung locally and see what I think. If I'm not happy with them I will be sending them to Enzo to have them set up.

Nice work!

You can use a file if they are big scrapes. Don’t remove material from the rails, just try to knock any edges down or off.

You could soda or vapor blast is and get a nice finish as well, if that’s what you’re going for.

Titanium from Racetech is slowly starting to show up. Most of the stuff I ordered was out of stock but the bar mount bolts and kickstart bolts showed up. Should have more showing up in the next week or so.

Started working on cleaning up the casting marks off the linkage, rear brake, kickstart, and shifter. Started by using a dremel and removing the casting marks. Then stripped the paint off the linkage using some aircraft stripper followed by using 80, 150, and 220 sand paper. Then hit it with some mag wheel cleaner and a red scotch brite pad. Turned out pretty good. Still have a little bit of work to do but it's getting there.

Got the frame cleaned up and looking good again. I'm getting excited to start putting this thing back together.

Got the PC clamps cleaned up. The rubber bar mounts were shot so I replaced them with some billet pieces and replaced the hardware with Ti.

go to rockymountain OEM side. Looks at the diagrams for bolt sizes then order the Ti on ebay. I have 110 Ti bolts on my bike for under 300.

Talking about the bar mount bolts or the bolts on the triple clamps? The triple clamps are M8-1.25x35 and I am not sure what size the bolts for the bar mounts are off hand.

Suspension has been rebuilt, valved and set up for me by Deja Moto. He is a local guy to me and really knows his stuff. Really looking forward to riding this thing and seeing how the suspension performs. Picking it up tomorrow and then things can really start rolling. Got the linkage bearings replaced steering stem bearings and races replaced.



The guys over at Luxon supplied a billet ignition cover and a few more titanium bolts for the bike as well. Super impressed with the quality of the cover. Always thought the stock plastic ignition cover was pretty ugly and this cover should clean up this side of the bike pretty nicely. Definitely a company that is producing high quality trick parts.

That ignition cover is rad! I like how it’s got no branding on it. Was that a special request from Luxon or is that how they come? I’ll have to get myself one I think, looks way more badass that a boysen cover

I just asked them to leave their logo off when he was making a few of them and he had no problem doing that for me. It is a seriously trick piece. Should look really good on the bike!

Things are slowly but surely starting to come together. Started to get the front end together. Really like the look of the forks mounted in these clamps. Should have more updates soon.

Yz is an awesome bike, years of experience building these can't go wrong with most engine builders. Watts perfections is suppose to be a good one.

My winterproject so far, Waiting for numberdecals and black seatcover. After that i´m done, for now..
Probably will powdercoat the tripleclamps black or go for PC or X-trig clamps.

That thing is trick! Interested to hear how the Ohlins performs in comparison to the stock KYB stuff.

I love the Öhlins kit, gives the bike more stability in highspeed choppy stuff, and feels as it never bottoms out.
But I did have some problem with my KYB shock, my "suspension guy" had to rebuild it severel times, something messed upp the Bladder again and again, making the rear of the bike act like a Pogostick..

A friend recently bought a yz125 with suspension set up for my weight aswell, so I will have to compare the bikes handling against each other.

Hope my English is understanable!

I got it used from a friend really cheap, but they are around 1300 us if you buy them new.

Finally started making some progress on this thing! Got the cylinder and head back from being ported and polished, threw a fresh piston in and lastly a full Hinson set up in it. Was going to do some cerakoting on some pieces but I think I am going to hold off for now and get it done down the road. Need to order up some more Ti bolts as well to finish the motor off. I may be addicted to Ti...

Got the motor back on the frame and bolted up and started getting the controls dialed in as well. I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel but still have a little ways to go. Hoping to make some more progress as the week goes on!

Yep the 250sx is mine as well. In my opinion, 125s are the most fun bikes out there to ride and thats probably what I will spend most my time riding when I am at the track. I spend quite a bit of time riding in the trees though and thats where the 250 will spend most of its time.

Made some more progress. Have a little bit more work to put in, waiting on a few more parts to show up and then it will be done for now and will just need to let the snow melt before getting out and riding it. Going to end up doing this bike in a couple of stages as I wasn't able to do everything that I wanted. Anyway, really happy with the way things are coming together. Should be a lot of fun to ride.
