Yeah, some good things to see on that track, despite the player not being that great. And again, its on easy and assisted so can be made much more realistic with option settings.

Question for you guys. I've already pre-ordered some physical copies of Monster Energy Supercross for my collection but like seriously all i play is MX/SX games so I am sure MES is going to be played like all the time. For convenience, I am thinking about also ordering it digitally for my Xbox One X with the Special Edition one with all the extra content.

2 questions. Can you pre-download it like now upon purchase? (I go to a buddies house to do all my downloadables and DLC/Updates since I have no high speed...i use an old unlimited usb aircard for watching practices, etc but won't work on systems) and...

how long does it take to download full MES SE game with good high speed. Just curious on that one to allow proper time at his place.

Thanks.

This isn't a new video...it was released right when updated physics were announced...but I still think it is one of the best representations we have seen of the game thus far. Whip looks pretty good...since that is most everyone's top priority (yes, I'm being sarcastic...sorry), speed and pacing look good, rider seems to time the jumps correctly and overall looks real good. Yeah, it's not all perfect..the strange head bob is a bit odd but probably been removed...but I do think it looks pretty darn sweet. Won't be long now till we can actually play it for ourselves.

^ The most spot on thing about that video is how Cooper is battling for the lead... Blink

All kidding aside, this was definitely the best representation of the game thus far. I'm excited for it to come out. I'll have to practice my head banging for those landings.

That fact that the guy playing keeps cutting in too tight on corners proves the physics are different then previous milestone games. It was possible to oversteer but usually it wanted to push wide. This makes me think it will play a bit more free.

Cool. Pretty sure this vid was already posted and is buried in this thread somewhere...Maverick probably posted it, God bless him...but I haven't seen it around much and I think it is the best video representation of the game thus far so thought I would re-post it.

Really stoked on how he East Rutherford track looks. Also looks like there's some kind of seat bounce function. I wish the jumps were a little peakier.

The square up ability in the mxgp games was pretty lacking for sure, it made Supercross seem impossible. This is gonna be a killer game. Lol@#freethewhip

Why tf are most of the take-off faces shallower than the landing faces??? Look at the finish line double, how are you supposed to clear that properly?

Idk, graphics still look great, but I'm preparing for a boring let down. my $.02

I just want to know if Ralph is going to say "He's really steering that bike with his rear tire!!" or Emig say "The pressure is getting to him Ralph"!!

I was under the impression that Ralph and Jeff would be commenting during racing gameplay, but I don't see/hear that in any of these videos. Maybe it's turned off?

Here's what I know. I spoke with Ralph and he said, initially, that it was just him...not Fro... and that it wouldn't be lap by lap pbp but probably race intros/recaps and the overall voice of the game probably in career mode, cutscenes and etc. Then he said they decided to add Fro. Then they released a trailer which sounded very much like lap by lap pbp. But most videos we have seen since have had nothing commentary wise though we have seen some intro voice work. So, honestly, I'm not sure.

I know Ralph said that initially there plan was to look towards full pbp for the next SX game in the series. But this was prior to adding Fro. They may have added full commentary but not sure they would have had time to do that.

So it is honestly a bit up in the air as what it is. Hoping both are in it and full pbp but totally understand if that has to be for next game as I don't think that was the initial idea and no other MXGP game has even had voice intros, though Ralph did do those in the Rossi Milestone game.

I know some probably think its corny but I hope before the A1 gate drop Ralph goes into his 30 second monologue about how great these athletes are and the glory of the Supercross championship.

Iam assuming that they went with a more mellow approach on the maps to make it more playable for beginners. Once we get a hold of the track editor iam sure we can make more realistic layouts of original tracks. Taller woops, steeper rhythm sections that require more timing, and dirt thats more consistent to what was actually used in those races.

Lol. It is corny. But I would LOVE it! It would feel just like the broadcast. Hell, bring Jenny in for the next game as trackside reporter. That would be nice, too. Smile

As far as the commentary goes it's a lot easier to record lines for the career/story mode and the cut scenes than it is for freeride/singles races so I'm not that surprised that we don't hear anything from Ralph/Jeff in those videos.

I just hope that when we create our rider that we can pick out a name or a nickname for them to announce during the career mode. I've played other games where that was an option and I've played other games where the person doing the commentary would say something along the lines of "Nice pass for the lead by Player 1" and it sounds so stupid. Fortunately you can turn those things off.

I could honestly care less about in game commentary. Just a muffled announcer and the crowd in the backround is probably all they here in real life. I dont even like music while iam playing.

I hate music while playing. But following my desire for our sport to be more in line with the other sports, authenticity wise, I for sure hope they do commentary. If done intuitively, it adds a lot of immersion to the experience.

I loved hearing Art Eckman and David Bailey in EA Supercross 2000. Even as limited as it was for 1999. It added a nice touch of authenticity to it. And some sports games have done an outstanding job doing commentary. 2K, for example. Huge budget difference but no reason not to try.

Just because we've never had it doesn't mean the developers shouldn't push the envelope and try their best to emulate the sport and broadcast.

To each his own but I love a good sports presentation. Adds a lot of immersion.

I mean if they can do it cool. If not iam not worried but id probably turn it off. Now if they had it for the replays that would awesome.

Every video seems like the physics get a little looser and the 250's even more so. I think once us Moto gamers actually get it in our hands and play it properly it's going to be a pretty good game.

I think considering it's on easy and assisted and all that point crap on screen that there still good elements in this video.

Realistic, Pro physics, Manual shifting, separate brakes and a skilled player will make this puppy shine.

It is soooo easy to give knee jerk responses on very short video clips that we stare at for days or weeks. When that Webb video came out, guys were bitchin about how the rear tire slides around like the physics were super arcade ffs, when in reality that was the only time the player really used the rear brakes a lot in a video. I thought it looked awesome that braking the rear like that was available. Next we had to re-watch that San Diego vid with the low jump designs, yeah not exciting but then the complaint was all the jumps are going to be whack and hit them like whoops.

Finally we are seeing better more diverse track layouts later in the series like Daytona and NY, and taking the inside corner for a bigger triple face won't work. Besides, that NY finish double looked legit to me. I re-watched the actual race recap, and the riders used the berm just before the finish to make that double. That player never used a berm once! Easy mode gameplay for casual players/kids, and pro settings with no assists for a bit more fun online. Whatever track complaints we have from 2017 will be dealt with by community by the hundreds and Im sure crafty individuals will find a unique bump to use for a "larger" whoop too.
