R&D RM80 in Super motocross magazine in the late 1980's

Edited Date/Time 3/7/2022 5:49am
Super motocross magazine did a spread on an RM80 in 1987 or 88 that had a normal Reed valve welded onto the cylinder instead of the stock "power Reed " setup with a small Reed petal under the cylinder. I believe it was Buddy Antunez's bike. Anybody got a scan of that article? The Reed valve supposedly gave it a wide powerband, considering the bike had yet to get the power valve that it got in 89. I'd love to see that article again.

I'd love to see that too! I have a running thread on here about R&D bikes.... Wanting to see some pics for restoration purposes, and have had zilch luck.... As trick as their machines were, nobody seems to have many pics of them, including Dean himself! Good luck, as I have three bike builds in the works, and not much to go on...

I have it boxed up somewhere. But if anyone has it readily available it would be Tony Blazier.

Nice! I’d love to get some of those front fender letters made. Keep us informed on the progress

I have a 1989 RM80 Supermini that i purchased from R&D back in 1990 or 1991. Still in great shape and is a blast to ride. Its funny about their builds it looks all stock, accept if you look close. The pipe has a small 1/4" piece welded into it and the forks were made by Dean i believe. Sounds totally different and revs super quick. Anyway, I will post some pictures sometime this week.
