Supercross / Motocross is Ambience.
The riders, are the entertainment. I like the whole experience, and choose no one over the next.

I need a paycheck to be Brand, or Team, specific.

I really could care less who wins and I could care less which team they ride for or the brand of bike they ride. With that said, it bothers me that some who are supposedly true fans have zero respect for the riders other than a selected few. It bothers me that people are not smart enough to realize that riders like Steward and Reed are just that good and that everyone else isn’t just “that bad”. It bothers me that some think because years ago the racers had more talent and heart, but in reality the racing was better because there were no dominate riders like JM, RC, JS or CR.

I am a fan of the sport and fan of those who participate in the sport at the top tier level.
Back when I saw my first MX in the early '70s; I was a huge Bultaco fan. Those days had many different bikes manufacturers that made machines unique; least 10 or more mfgrs... Then Bimbo was my fav rider along with Lackey.....leaving comfort of home and racing then the best overseas.

Now the bikes look mostly all the same except the color schemes and one no link.

Still like Hill, but I really don't care who wins. Hate to see great talents wasted. But that their perogative.

Just build some great tracks and let 'em decide in on the track. Can't wait for Daytona...

Yeah, like jmar says, you had really no idea most years who would win each week. RJ had a run for a bit, but for years, we had Ward, Shultz, O'Mara, Barnett, Pre and Post Hannah, Bailey, RJ, Dogger, Bradshaw, Stanton, Bayle.....even Jeff Leisk was pretty darn good.....years where 8-10 could win a SX at any time. LaRocco, Mike Craig, Larry Ward...the names were endless as the memories.

I know from sponsoring and wrenching for one what kind of respect these guys truly deserve.

Are you a dyed in the wool race team fan no matter who’s on your team? Or is the team secondary to your rider(s)? Or do you cheer for any rider that ride’s the same brand of bike you do?

I’ve always been a Team Suzuki fan since my first couples of bikes were Suzuki’s. I guess my favorite rider’s today change with my mood.
Is this the same Izzi were calling out about his weight at the begining of the season?

I'm a fan. I'm a fan of the guy in our series that makes every race in a 25 race series. He's 53 years old and jumps that big triple when he's feeling it, and goes to work on Monday. I'm a fan of that little girl on the XR50 who's mom brings her to the track but has no idea that the bike is running like crap. I'm a fan of the kid who's on 85's for the second year and has figured it out. He's spanking all the other boys now. I'm a fan of my son no matter how hard he rides. I'm a fan of the track owners who give me a place to ride every week.

I'm the guy who shows up in the stadium as soon as the doors open - no pits for me - to see those first laps..........and tries not to miss a lap all the way to the checkers of the 250 main (yeah, the big bikes), because I see the guys who flat haul the mail at my local track struggling to get into the night program at SX. What the rest of those guys do with relative ease blows my mind. I'm a fan of the guys I've seen at our local tracks that are on their way. Lemoine, Stephen Clarke, PJ Larson, those guys. I'm a fan that the guy on the podium with the bike I drool over in the mags or on line.

First race of the Alabama Series is this weekend. I'll find some more things I'm a fan of Saturday.

I used to be loyal to team Yamaha but those days are long gone. It used to be that guys would spend most of their careers on a single brand (e.g., Broc Glover) but these days guys switch teams almost as often as NFL players do. It makes it hard to stay loyal a single brand to me.

I'm turning over a new leaf this year though. From now on, Justin Barcia is "MY" guy. My goal is to get him to say "I love that guy to death" (or something similar) on the podium. hehe.
why are you jeolous of a dumbshit like me? everytime you pipe up you dumb yerself down...jus sayin.

When I first came over here I was staggered when "fans" would openly boo riders, WTF is that ?

Where's the respect ??

Anyone who boos a rider isn't a fan of MX .

X2.I agree. But man,how staggered you must be to go to a soccer game. Fans fighting in the stands and trying to get at the players on the field. They don't just boo, they want to kill or maim. Wink

R-asshat's dedication to fandom, reminds me of a squirrel getting food storage for the winter.

I'm only a fan of the winner. All other riders suck and should hang up their helmets and give sponsor money back.
