Bad luck on the ankle matey

Oh crap Laughing
Made a lowball offer, and I got it..

Selling my 16 250f and gonna ride on this when I can again for some time, 06 cr125. Unfortunately I need to "borrow" the triple clamps from the nice 125. I feel gutted about it, but I don't want to buy another one just for a few months.. so I can bolt up my ohlins fork and 270 disc/ talon wheel.

Feels bad that I disassemble my nice one, but it's not getting used at the moment anyways..
This will be a "fast" wash and go-thru, so I get it in rideable condition. Got all parts for it ordered already.

Hahah! What parts did you order? Are you going to race this bike also?

Tore it down to the bare frame.

Will assemble with some new parts:
New excel rear rim on oem hub
Talon/excel front rim
270mm front disc
Ohlins fork
Ohlins shock, brand new "old"
Xtrig clamps
999 bars
Pwk air striker carb

Gpi rads and hoses
New lever/cables/grips
Swingarm bearings
Linkage bearings

Plastic etc etc.

Will be a nice bike for real good money!
Just hate waiting on partsLaughing
250f is up for sale now Smile

Do you buy your GPI stuff new or used? If new, where or who do you order from? I see a lot of them on eBay, but im not sure who to order from, as some are from USA and others are from China.

As i got 2 125s I can now check parts for fitment.

2006 rear master on 2001. It fits good, although I need to try with a 2001 brake pedal, as I remember the distance from pivot to master cylinder is shorter than 2006. 2006 pedal does not work.

My other bike is getting ready soon. Just waiting on some final parts and it's ready to rip. Scored a brand new Öhlins rear for it also Cool 3 1/2 weeks left with crutches
Dry

Finally!!!
Going on a 700km roadtrip this Friday dropping off the complete engine (minus clutch) at the builderCool

Then he is gonna work his magic on it, we don't have a time frame on this.Smile

Been busy riding this thing last few weeks.. 6.5 hours of riding since my latest injury, still getting used to clutching this moped Laughing .

Gonna race it in the remaining races this year (open class Laughing )

For the nice 125, next in line is getting a front caliper ordered, gonna go with the motostuff billet one, and their ultra-thin hose. Hopefully it arrives soon, and choosing fork is getting closer.

This is a great thread! Hows the Ohlins working out?
7/26/2017 10:56am
Thanks!

The ohlins is, well ohlinsSilly

It's good! Still need to get the fork dialed in better, since I habe had it on my -16 250f and it's the old style ohlins fork with preload and high speed adjuster on rebound. It's made for a 2008 crf.
So I needed to go up to 48 springs and 15wt oil to get it dialed.

Bolted it up to the 125 and only changed spring rate to 46, still with 15wt oil (and backed out the compression). It's a little "harsh" and choppy on the first stroke that I'm not used to, I'm gonna change oil back to 10wt, then I'll get it dialed I think.

Rear is a brand new cr shock that has been lying around since 2007, have only played around with sag and some clicks, need to dial in the fork before I work on the shock.

But compared to oem suspension, I can't even compare..Laughing

Also, I don't know whether it is the rocs triple clamp (that I never have tried before) the bike or that this old fork works better on old cr's than crf's.

But when i get the front wheel in a rut, it stays there.. no matter what you do, It's planted!

Latest Package..

This will probably go on my "cheap" 125, and will be used only on this particular bike if I (God forbid) ever decide to race it.

Too much weight, 182grams more than just a regular spacerWhistling

No, it just failed.

The cylinder were pretty worn out, so piston clearance were on the bigger side, and the crank was a Hotrod unit(good tolerances tough), so i was waiting for it,hoped for more than 8 hrs tough. I kind of slapped in a new clutch and piston, and was thinking ill ride it until 15 hours if it doesn't grenade and do all the work (minus cylinder and head) I'm doing now Smile

Oem parts getting in it now.Smile

I've a 3 hour hot rod crank with good jug and vertex in a 95 125. My plan was to do a piston around 10 hours and crank at 30. those pics make me want to rebuild a bit sooner

Here it is!

Fitment is good, hard to tell when engine is "mocked up" only. But it went on easily.
Switching out the hardware to titanium now that I know what lenghts to use.

Probably buying some more pipes and silencer later on to see what works best on the dyno. And weight.

Any updates on this build man?

Going slow here unfortunately.

I have decided to quit riding mx, due to this crappy season. 2 broken wrists (3 screws last time) 1 broken foot and 1 rib. It takes the joy out of it.. I'm also my own contractor so I really need to just work.

I have bought a cbr 600 and I am going to try roadracing instead, and man that's expensive..

I have sold off all bikes besides this 125, I will keep it and slowly work on it. Sadly, it won't be ridden I guess.

What kind of CBR did you buy? Road legal or full race bike? I'm thinking about getting an R6R in the winter!

You quit MX because of injuries, and decided to go road racing instead.. well we will have to see how that works out for you.

Progress is slow here, but my RR is ready and I can hopefully start to work on the 125 again soon.

(RR ain't cheapHuh Dry Grinning )

Next in line is to find a nice fork for it, don't want to buy a new one since I'm rebuilding most of it anyway. I would love to get my hands on the marzocchi 50mm in the bazaar but I was too slow I think..

If anyone got a good connection on a kit fork, ohlins (preferably the old style with preload, I sold my old one with the other 125.) Or something unusual, hit me up!!

Also, I would like to get in touch with someone on asterisk, I would love to have one of their carbon brake master cylinder guards, but they are not available to the public when I talked to them..

Rr- looks to good to crash, damnit.
