Lets hear it for the Alessi camp! Glad to see a podium tonight. Well deserved, from a young man unafraid to express his faith in the Father, and The Creator of all things; Jesus.
May God bless the Alessi clan.

Then where does BobbyM fit into that equation? Mohammed? Buddha? The Anti-Christ?

Props to Mike... Great ride!

Takes more balls to thank God and follow your beliefs then go the route of it being un-cool. ... Kid works his ass off and people are going to rag on who he thanks on the podium. I for one would rather err on the side of thanking GOD then talking smack about a greater being and risking eternity. Just my 2¢

That being said... Great ride Mike, well deserved!

I dont care who he thanked.....podium speeches are for the most part dumb.
I liked his ride tonight......was good to see him him come back in on Stewart and try to give him some after JS passed him.

Alessi got lucky. Last night the stars and planets must not have been aligned in any particular order because everything was out of whack. It started with me getting a good parking spot for cheap, a short walk to the stadium, then the lites guys crashing everywhere, Milsaps running past Alessi and RV, some gnarly crashes everywhere, the stadium ran out of beer before the lites main event, the lites getting red flagged, and then #1 and #7 having a serious battle and lapping up to 7th place I think. It was freakin nuts.

It wasn't luck, it was the Good Lord Jesus Christ. He has a vested interest in who gets podiums in supercross races. I thought everyone knew that.

I'm not a believer in god. But if a god does exist, I don't feel that he would be a fan of a single rider.
If god is in heaven rooting for a particular rider, than he's probably not worth the water he walks on.

He did not thank him for his podium position... he thanked God for keeping him safe. If he thinks that God is controlling his destiny during a race... so be it. I believe, just dont think God is keeping that bus from hitting me as I walk across the street.

Great ride Mike!
I was expecting a holeshot to a 10th place finish but he proved me damn wrong.
This series is looking better for 800 after each round.
His confidence should be through the roof come Glen Helen.

The young man was faster than 17 riders out there tonight. And now he can cash a bit check from Suzuki!!

He thanked the big guy above, just like other riders do like Shorty, etc. He also thanked his mom, dad, and his lovely little lady Danielle. But no matter how much you criticize his beliefs, he was still faster than 17 riders out there tonight.

Nice ride Mike!

I understand that this is a sensitive issue, to say the least, but I have a real problem with this "logic". No offense to you, personally, but what are we supposed to think when He DOESN'T "keep us safe out there"? Should we be mad at God for that? Or was that the Devil doing his work?

Besides, does God REALLY have time to sit around "keeping us safe out there"? Seems like he would have enough to do with keeping the planets in line and everything else. And if he does have time, then why doesn't he "keep us safe out there" all the time? Why he is so selective with his help?

It just doesn't make sense to me. Is this a test of my faith that he sent me? If so, I think I flunked.

I thought Mike rode very good tonight. Can't say I'm a huge fan or anything but he didn't back down, he kept RV behind him during the heat and didn't wave Stewart by during the main. I was glad to see him try to pass Stewart back, I think he'll be better outdoors. I'm not religious and him thanking God for keeping him safe didn't offend me.

You didnt read my post did you???? I said I believe in God... just not that He is keeping the bus from hitting me... in other words... I dont believe God is keeping Mike safer than anyone else, BUT... if Mike believe that God is keeping him safe than why should we have a problem. Let Mike believe as he may.... doesnt hurt you or me... does it??? In the end... I am still looking both ways before I cross the steet!!!

Sorry if it seemed like I was referring to your beliefs. I did read your post and understand what you're saying.

My comments were directed at what is often said on the podium by certain riders. It's so common that I can quote it directly right here: "I just want to thank the Good Lord Jesus Christ for keeping me safe out there". We hear it all the time but we KNOW he doesn't "keep us safe out there" all the time so why thank him for it?

Why doesn't anyone bring up God or Jesus when they crash, get hurt, or DNF a race? Seems only right that if He's gonna get "all the glory" when they win or finish well that He may as well get "all the shame and regret" when they don't.

Just once, ONCE, I'd like to hear a guy get interviewed in the ambulance and say "the Lord works in mysterious ways". Just once!

Let us bow our heads. Please Lord, please grant me this wish, Amen.
