Don't usually post my resto's but I thought this one was off the beaten path enough to warrant showing off. She had the full on Mad Max treatment from the previous owner so I had a bit of work cut out for me. Still need to build some fresh wheels for it but want to bring it to Dilla in two weeks so that will have to wait. Got some neat stuff on there too. ProFab/White Brothers swingarm, Fox Factory remote resi shocks, Supertrapp exhaust, 78/79 CR250 tank, 81 CR450 front end with Race Tech emulators and some other little odds and ends I'm forgetting.

Here are some before and afters for you all.

On a side note, I firmly believe valves belong in toilets not dirtbikes but I always thought the old 4 stroke national bikes were so cool and felt the need to build one. Was a really fun build since it was like trying to turn a dump truck into an indy car.

Yep, went back to the stock carb and it runs perfect. Still smoking a little bit but I'm hoping its just the leftovers burning off. If not it is getting a 520cc slug dumped in it.

Newmann sent me one so I threw that on with what I'm told is the proper jetting and it was nothing but a blubbering mess. Hoping there is just something wrong with that carb and the one you have will fix it up.

Thing is still smoking a bit so my plan to leave the engine stock and reliable went out the window when I just 2nd day aired a 520cc piston for it. No replacement for displacement right?! Lol

I now have that bike. Made a trade for an old MR250. Love your creation, but I can't get it running. I have someone who is more inclined to get it going, but we are wondering if the carb set up is our problem ? If we have some questions, can you steer us in the right direction ?
