On a side not and not to hijack the thread, but something that is being overlooked in the story is how ridiculous concert prices are these days. $200 bucks to see a has been in concert. He wasn't worth that in his prime. A couple weeks ago I saw U2. Freaking $150 at the other end of the football stadium. I realize their sprawling estates and vacation homes aren't going to pay for themselves but it's ridiculous.

We can all agree on that, right? I know, "supply and demand", "can't put a price on art", yada, yada, yada

I was going to grab a couple tickets a few months back and fly to New York to see Joe Jackson at the Apollo. $590.00 per ticket...nope.

I can't tell you how many concerts I sort of wanted to go to but didn't because of the crazy prices. I sort of wanted to take the wife to see Def Leppard this summer, $60.00 each for bad seats. I work too hard to fund the lifestyle of over the hill mediocre rockstars, that's for sure.

It's not your job to tell Waters what his job is. You're the dummy that paid for tickets for an entertainer who has a long history of politicizing his songs and concerts. Roger Waters gets to run his show however he likes since he has complete creative control. You're just along for the ride.
Exactly. Though I can see both sides of this. I understand the annoyance of paying good money to be entertained just to be blasted with the theatrical equivalent of the most annoying people on your Facebook feed.

On the other hand, this is 100% consistent with what Waters has been singing about - hell, the very beliefs he based one of the best selling albums of ALL TIME on. It is his show. A star of his stature could easily play it safe and phone in a benign set of nothing but the hits for the crowd's passive enjoyment, but that's not what he's about. Never has been.

Additionally, it's truly disturbing how absolutely persecuted people act when faced with any opinions even slightly different than their own. It's the height of arrogance and entitlement to demand that the world cater to your own particular viewpoint at all times. Reality check: ain't gonna happen, so either curl up in your cozy little safe space, or grow a pair and deal.

You do have a point. He basically was previously singing about Hitler and the Nazis. Trump does fit the image.

Well, the concert (music) was awesome. The guy Waters has to sing and play Gilmour's parts was good, not as good as Gilmour, but still good.

He cut back on the political shit a little and didn't have the "TRUMP IS A PIG" words up.

I just can't imagine if somebody would have had a concert like this 7 years ago, blatantly slamming Obama so much... the lefties would have protested and picketed until the concert was cancelled.

I find it hysterically ironic that Waters bitches about the greed and money hungry 'powerful' people of the world...while charging $200 a ticket. Then my nephew wanted to buy a shirt, but the T-SHIRT he wanted was $75. All this, and Waters has a net worth of $290,000,000. However, hypocrisy is kind of the lefts 'thing'.

$200 seems like a lot for what is basically a cover band.

Liberal Elitism isn't all that ironic, it's all too common. Waters is the definition of it.

So why pay that much in the first place, unless you thought it was worth it?

It was a gift from my wife. So while I did pay for the tickets, I didn't purchase them.

Like I said, the music was great (if you like Pink Floyd). The show was even good...just could have gone without the political bullshit. Now if Waters had a net worth of $200,000 and gave away $200,500,000 to all these charities, I'd respect the 'cause' a little more.

And he's humble and down to earth. "I have a whole list of instruments that I'm not good at", while being one of the best guitar players of all time.

He also isn't that interested in airing out all the BS that contributed to the breakup. But when all was said and done, Gilmour, Wright and Mason continued on without Waters. But none of them have put out the kind of stuff they did when they were all together. I'm not all that sure that they would have continued to maintain that high level if they would have stayed together.

Nick Mason owns an estate not too far from me (Middlewick House). Occasionally he invites the public in to have a look around the gardens and view a selection of his classic car collection to help raise money for charity. My folks have been several times and said Mason just casually walks around chatting to everyone while helping to serve the tea and coffee. Sounds like a top bloke!

I could care less about his politics. I just never got Pink Floyd at all. Sure they have a few good songs, and like every other kid growing up I took acid and watched "The Wall." But for the most part it's just jam band emo music imo, I never liked whiney depressed music either so that could be it.

Water's and Trump have different goals. Of course they would not agree. Completely different goals.

Obviously Waters thinks that his opinion on American politics is important. Maybe as important as his music. I have a question: if Waters had to start out his musical career in 1984, all based on what he has done since the Floyd breakup, do you think he would be where he is today?

My mom always said "if you can't say something. Ice don't say anything at all".

But when it comes to Pink Floyd I totally ignore her. They suck so bad and are the most overrated band ever.

Probably not. Pink Floyd is a tough act to follow.
