It was a hydraulic problem not a bent rotor
Exactly. I had something like this happen on my KX a few years ago during a race on a hot day.

I changed the brake fluid and stupid me filled the front master cylinder too much. Race day everything was normal until the fluid got hot after the first lap or so - problem was as it heated up and expanded, it had nowhere to go since the master was full to the top.

Second moto I removed a bit of fluid, which left an air gap, and things were back to normal. I never filled it to the brim again and never had the brake lockup either.

I saw Heiiki Mikkola in the crowd. He took a pee in the turn just before Tomac's front wheel locked up. Guess the corrosion was too intense on the rotor.

Talked to Tomac real quickly after the race, says he didn't hit anything, brake suddenly locked up just like DallasSX. NOT happy
Sounds just like my kid when he came home with a dent in the car. "Really dad, I didn't hit anything and nothing hit me. I just got out of the car and the dent was there."

Firm feel, indeed.

Eli's fancy pants works billet front caliper. These are handmade by Shaolin monks using centuries old and highly secretive techniques. One caliper takes 50 years to produce.

The magnesium front caliper similar to the one RV ran (same one used by the Euro team):

Note the position of the banjo bolt on Eli's master cylinder:

Consider that jet fuel alone cannot melt steel:

Conclusion:
The Russian's are clearly meddling with the outcome of our motocross races.

I love a cat meme early in the morning. Along with useful information. Just brightened my day.

I had the same thing happen to me years ago where after a lap the front brake locked up. I was using an aftermarket brake lever and the hole in the brake lever where the plunger sits wasn't drilled deep enough and after the system heated up the wheel would lock up.
Funny thing is that it probably will be something that small, but very hard to find.

He needs a front rotor lube button. Put it where the KTM electric start button is. And maybe he should start carrying a pocket knife in a fanny pack.
