The big thing that sets PC apart is that Mitch is always prepared. The homework is done far in advance, the machines are always prepared, and the budget is always secure. Mitch is always ready to go racing. That is the difference.

bragging and name dropping is kinda like the kid who says "I'm taking my ball and going home" and ruins the whole kickball game for all the neighborhood kids.

I guess you're moto "in-the-know" is far superior to us fatties. time to turn around and head to krispy kreme I guess matt and dave; I'll buy.

We ran 07 and 08.

Kawi 250f the first year and the next year Honda 450.

Last year was the last time I will be doing the nationals most likely. If you ask me Chisolms reason for that engine being night and day different was nothing more than a head thing.

This is an excellent point. Just a great example of what riding a PC bike or using a PC engine can do for your confidence.

mxr125, Please check your email.

Thanks.

And Farva, I'm going to stand behind what I've said. To the best of my knowledge, it is true as of the last day I worked on my project in Dec. 2007 when the program I managed went nascar-ing down the road.

I'm not here to persuade you different but from my experience I simply see things a bit different.

They could be right or the might not be I will most likely never know because I'm not an engine builder for P.C.

I go way, way, way back with Mitch. He and I were teammates back in the old Firehawk series. And, I spent a LOT of time with his people when I worked in the industry. A LOT of time.

Thats okay. Me, dave, and mxr don't really know anything. We all just sit on the interweb all day and eat donuts, get fat and talk about how much we know. In reality, out of the 3 of us, we've never even been to a sx. We wouldn't even know what a motor was if we saw one. Its all okay. Your buddies with MItch, so I'll take your word on all of this.
Man you have a huge ego dude.

Mitch builds cheater bikes for his team and no one has the balls to contest it.

When was the last time Mitch had a motor torn down by the AMA?

Over the last couple of seasons I would say the the MDK motors are on par with PC motors.

It's all about the bike.

Stick Ralph Shaheen on a PC bike and he'd be on the box, no doubt.

i think it is confidence, everyone on that team thinks and knows they can win, and they show up ready to win and expect nothing less than a win, which is why they win.

My .02....I don't think Pro Circuit builds cheater bikes. Pro Circuit has too much at risk professionally.

But Payton uses HIS team engines as the development arm for future race engines for customer supported teams, then all the development that is learned form HIS engines and the CUSTOMER race engines combined will eventually be passed down to the consumer.

A full blow race engine, like the engines his riders uses are pushing the limits in cutting edge performance. From the gearbox, gearbox ratio's, pistons, cams, cylinder and head work, engine heat, etc.... everything is being pushed to the limits during a race. HIS engines get rebuilt after every race and EVERYTHING is measured, logged, and analyzed. The life span on his race engines are designed to go a certain hours and they are done. Period...

And if we were all in his shoes, everyone one of us would do the same thing. Which is looking for an advantage. Payton puts together the sponsorship, and if doesn't have the $ to do it, he reaches into his own pocket and pays for the development himself. Also Payton went out and hired Drino Miller and I can bet the farm Drino is not working for free and making a good penny from Mitch... BTW, Miller came from TRD and Porsche as one of the leaders in engine development for those respected companies. Drino heads up Pro Circuits R@D department BTW regarding engine development.

Remember, Payton is a racer (and a very fast one in the desert before he got hurt). He wants to give all his riders, mechanics, and support personal on HIS TEAM all the right tools to go WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS.... and he has done that. It's a combination of a lot of little things that makes HIS TEAM a winner. Pro Circuits record speaks for themselves.

So are the customer engines up to his level of performance? I would say close, but not like his. Customer race engines are usually one step behind in development. But remember, customer race engines are customer race engines... from the professional side on down. All his engines need to have performance, they need to be reliable, and to meet certain things what the CUSTOMER wants. And consumer engines need to perform (just not at the limit) and be reliable too.

First and foremost, Pro Circuit is a business... They sell race engines and suspension parts... and racing is Paytons marketing arm (being his team or customer race teams) to sell HIS parts to you, me, and everybody else who wants a solid performing bike.

BTW as for other companies competing against Pro Circuit, MDK is using COSWORTH as their development arm to help build their engines. COSWORTH's history in the auto racing world is legendary. Also, the factory Honda's in the past has sought out METALORE (a cutting edge engineering F1 supplier of gearbox and internal engine components) to help improve some engine and gearbox parts from Japan.

Every time they finish in the top five, they get torn down !

As well as every other top five finishing bike.

We have had this fight for several years now, and it always comes down to "nothing"

Both Matt, Spinner, myself and others were beaten into submission by many on this forum into believing that the PC has no advantage over any other team.

Well then how do you explain Weimers success? If you ask me he is a totally different rider than last year.....
Simple. How many riders do you see change teams and improve their riding.

Mike alessi from ktm to Suzuki
Chad from yamaha to Suzuki
Weimer from honda to PC
Metty from PC to Honda
Even the likes of wil Hahn from yamaha to ktm.

Everyone needs a change, otherwise they get stale. Maybe weimer just needed a change.

Alessi...I guess he improved
Chad....If you say so he aint won yet
Weimer...Definately
Metty....He has had one race give me a break

So everytime a rider changes they improve? And without a doubt if they join the PC team they improve? You have bumped your nugget.

A friend (Brian Renshaw) works for AMA. Early in the day, he does the sound test.

After the races, they tear down the top five (placing) bikes and inspect, for legal displacement/specs.

I just put in a call to verify. This is how it is done in Motocross, Supercross may be different.
I will clarify when I get the call.

Just received a call from Brian's son. It seems that the teams are required to provide specific engines, and now they only tear down the top three, and any protested as well.

They also test again for sound, and fuel, after the race.

I know this has been done with MX for a long time. I've watched bikes line up, and be dismantled.

Brian, doesn't do it anymore, he works mainly on the sound issues. But according to his son, the top three engines are inspected. As it were at Anaheim Saturday, he says. To what depth I cannot answer.
