It's well known that Blake signed early with his new team for less, because he could see that in the game of musical chairs they play every year, there were a lot less chairs available. A ride on the 'Factory' team would pay more, but it was a gamble as to who would get the spot.
He was smart for sure. Took a number he was comfortable with to Rocky Mountain KTM and signed a deal.

The rest of the riders (Bogle, Wilson, Malcolm..etc) were all left to ride for nothing.

So while $150k or so is not optimal, it is considerably better than $0.

It could be a possibility; his SX skills are steadily improving and he is (IMO) a legit top five guy outdoors. He has gained an extra gear this year and has pleasantly suprised a lot of people with his speed, including myself.

Some of those races were just epic. Baggett would start around 10th-15th, and slowly inch forward over the first 15-20 minutes, then drop the hammer and be running 2-3 seconds a lap faster than the guys running in 1st-5th. He would reel them in like dead fish! Shit was epic to watch. It seemed like his wrist injury really slowed him down. I figure we will see that speed again though.

Apparently he crashed twice at Daytona. The first time Barcia rammed Wilson who then pinballed into Baggett. The second time, he got in trouble right after Reed whiskey throttled over two of the tuff blocks knocking them out into the track along with his bike.
