I'm looking at getting rid of the TTR50 to upsize to a 110. Kid has outgrown it and he's on a 65 now. We use the 50 as a pitbike, but it's just too small.
I'm undecided if I want a bike with a clutch for a pitbike. I believe there's pros and cons either way. What do you guys think?

I had a two KLX110 and I really liked the stock clutch and no clutch lever. Makes riding around with one hand much easier which is nice in the pits. I also had a stiffer shock spring. But if I were to get another KLX110 it would be a 110L due to the extra suspension travel. Im only 135lbs and I cracked the rear swingarm even with the stiffer shock spring (went a little to hard on the pitbike track) If it had the extra travel maybe it wouldn't have cracked.. 110L also will hold its resale value more. Im pretty sure the 110L also has a 4th gear

I've had both.

If your kid is riding 65's then the seat height is 29" or so. A 110L is the same. So won't be very pit bikish for him, more a 4 stroke version of his bike. A normal 110 has a seat height of 26" or so. Which would probaly be more fun for him, was for my son atleast.

I don't like the 110L personally as a bit bike, too big and don't like the clutch. It takes away from the pitbike aspect and makes it feel like your just riding a smaller crappy motorcycle.

Plus, hard to cruise around the pits holding a beer with the 110L.

Just my opinion though.

If you live in GA, I may be getting a 14 klx110L and a 12 ttr110 on trade today, and will be selling both.

Just picked up a 15 klx110L for my 10 year old to learn to use a clutch on. He's got a TTR110 now. This bike sits higher than his TTR that's for sure. If he doesn't like the idea of using a clutch I'll probably just turn around and sell it.

I think the 2010 and up are all electric start. I have a 10, I believe and it is very handy. The clutch takes all that away IMO
