I believe it will be a sealed unit so if you want adjustability you still go for the air setup.

Awesome and thanks for info because like I said I really stole the clamps on ebay but there was no booklet with them so I was going off of a few guys on here for info on them. I set them at 85psi yesterday. I'll lower the psi before the first ride with them. Thanks again, Mike

What coating is that on your CVs? Doesn't look thick the typical DLC. Are you not running the Trax shock this year?

It's blue titanium nitride. I had the Trax on my last 2 FE450s and while they're great shocks they're not head and shoulders better than the stock which is very very good in my humble opinion so I figured save some cash and no trax for me. My wife was happy about that too because I keep telling her that FE's are the bikes that need nothing..... :-)

Anyone else go through these seat covers quickly? had 3 rides on my 16 fe and had tears on both sides and the gripper bits tore off.

Since then put a motoseat on and had 5 rides without any wear at all.
I have the seat cover on my 16 350, it has started to tear around the ribs (gripper bits). I have a new cover to fit. I put it down to an old rider that sits down all the time so I was putting extra wear on the.

Is this the correct battery replacement? It doesn't seem to fit as good as the stock one. Definitely not as wide but it is a tad bit taller.

Definitely not as wide but too tall. I don't think I should have to force (bend) the battery bracket down. Anyone else have this issue that have replaced their stock battery?

Yeah that is the same one that's in my bike. Way more starting power than stock. No problems with fitting.

Notice the spacing on the side of the WPS battery in the tray. I don't think there should be that much play.

Digger,
Have you changed your battery out and noticed something similar.

Mine is the 250FE so maybe it was a smaller stock battery. Can you fill the gap with lightweight foam so the battery can't move?

the battery is a little too tall as well. The bracket stay would have to be forced over the battery in order to get the bolt started. My 16FE had a smaller battery I believe. But of course the microfiche shows last years battery part number or superseded . I hope I didn't end up with some one off battery tray or some shit.

Hmmm, interesting. I have that same WPS battery sitting on the bench but I haven't put it in yet. I did notice when I had the seat off to send the ECU out to Tokyo Mods that the new battery looked a little different though.

Normally the WPS batteries come with black foam spacers to take up the slack. Also that is the replacement for the 2016 FEs, and its only 10 more cca then the stock 2017 battery.
sizes for the 17 FE battery- 4.49x2.80x3.39
the 16 FE replacement battery- 3.56x2x3.5

Just left the KTM dealer and the FEs are different than the standard model batteries. Looks like we will have to wait for a replacement. I don't have the specs on the stock battery that lets me know what the cranking amps are. New battery may not be needed.

Its not needed it weighs .05 lb more then stock and only has 10 more cca.
Edit. If you really want to replace your stock battery in a 17 FE with a WPS battery you can get the wps 490-2501. It has 30 more cca and is almost the same dimensions as stock but weighs more.
or there is the WPS 490-2528 same size 60 more cca then stock but weighs .6 more lbs.

Ohhh The new bikes must have a much better battery stock. The WPS battery I believe was over half a pound lighter then the battery in my 16 FE.

I'm sure could get it for you but I just had the dealer order them once my guy there told me that they were FINALLY available to the public and not a team issue part only anymore.

I really like them. Our Parts Unlimited rep came in one day with a set and pretty much made me an offer I couldn't refuse. It's one of those things you do not notice until you ride someone else's bike without it. I usually run 75 psi. If it is a track with smaller jumps I can go down to 65 psi, but I can feel them bottom once in a while at that pressure. I thought it would give the front end a "vague" feeling....but it is just the opposite. At the price I payed I could have tossed them on eBay and made money, but I just pulled them off my 350 because they are going to be bolted right on to my '17.

What part number are those? The ones I have are part # (SXS16450460) but I have seen some that are using part # (06030658). Not sure what the difference is considering they both say that fit the same bikes. But there is about a $150 difference in price. If mine are incorrect I want to send them back before trying to mount.

I think that the cheaper version is only the top clamp. The more expensive includes the bottom clamp. That is my guess since i know that they sell the top clamp separate also for those who don't need the bottom one.

I'm glad you brought up the question of orange plastic. I believe the FE's plastics are not the flo orange.
I'm doing the all orange plastics, I ordered an Acerbis plastics kit , my question is, do I need to order the
"filter box lower" ( 790.06.001.000/EB ) from KTM or are the FE's come with that part already orange?
