Picked up my suspension from Pro Circuit Friday.
PC shock & fork springs are now available for the CRF. They nailed the revavle 1st try, im stoked. Bones gave me much more bottoming resistance, and comfort on the decel bumps. Im 190 lbs, 5.1 kg fork springs 4.8 shock springs w/ an a kit shock piston from An older kx250f i believe. Sag 102-105
Old parts for sale !

I am guessing you meant 4.8 fork and 5.1 shock? I am asking cause pro circuit did my 17 also but used stock springs, I ams 170lbs and am fighting the shock. Valving feels good but I feel it is over sprung with the stock 5.4. You said you are 190 lbs and they dropped your rear spring to a 5.1?

It's confusing because they have switched from the familiar kg/mm to N/mm. I think he means stiffer 5.1 N/mm. I don't know what that equates to in kg/mm measurement I'm used to.

So stock forks springs are 4.8 N/mm and stock shock spring is 54 N/mm.

Thanks for sharing your upgrades, I'm eager to hear how much better the suspension is after you guys get it set up. I'm going to ride mine for awhile before I get it re-valved or anything. So far I think the suspension is really good. I am digging this bike. I have no issues with starting so I don't see a reason to spend money on an electric starter kit. This bike handles really good and the engine rips. I'm coming off a 2007 CRF450 so this is my first fuel injected model.

Can you share your opinion on the good and bad compared to the 07? Motor, suspension, ergos? Thanks

Sorry guys,
Stock on the CRF is 4.8N/mm Fork springs w/ a 54nm shock spring. Alex at Pro Circuit recommended we jump up 2 spring rates, front and rear. So they installed 5.1 N/mmFork springs with a 5.8 nm shock spring.
The suspension on this bike was good until I took it to pala, the bigger jumps were hurting my knees and ankles. After 6 hrs i went to PC.
I asked Alex for more bottom resistance but keep as much comfort there on the decel bumps as possible, and any internal parts they had for the bike, ill take.
I rode Cahuilla sunday and was really impressed with the setup. The forks were perfect, softer feel off the top with a much more progressive mid stroke that didnt blow thru. The only thing i touched was the shock preload, I went from 102 to 105. And the shock felt stiffer to me, like It was packing more in the bumps. Went back to 103 and called it a day.
Heres a snap of the pc settings,
I would get the suspension done b4 a Yoshi pipe.
Made the bike much easier to ride.

Ergonomically, I'd say the 07 feels quite a bit longer and bigger. I'm 6'1" 200lbs and neither feels cramped, but the 17 just feels lighter and more responsive. 17 model wheelies easier out of corners, but that may be because the motor pulls so much harder through the mid and top. The 07 chugs along right off the bottom a little more initially, but after that the new bike will just pull away.

Handling wise, the new 17 seems more neutral in the corners. Both are great handling, just a little different. I'd say the 07 is more front biased and the 17 is more hooked up in the rear.. I want to spend some time setting up the suspension as everyone says the 17 is sensitive to sag and all that. My 07 has Pro Circuit A-Kit suspension which is set up for me and works pretty sweet. I may try those forks on the 17 just to see how they compare.

I'm a huge fan of the fuel injection! So crisp and it won't flood out when your kids sit on it and twist the throttle when your not looking! Nice fuel doesn't leak out when you lay it over and you don't ever have to shut a fuel petcock off. I like how compact the exhaust is. I always hated having that big long muffler hanging out the back.

Dan from Think! has foam and these "seat springs" he has Roczen using, for the CRF.

My bike is at the shop, it cracked on the right inner center case in the kick start area, the top of the case and looking from the left side of the bike where the kick gear would be

Got a twinair filter. Looks like I need a longer filter bolt to make it work with the rubber hole gasket. I really dont want to run it without. Anyone know of a year with a longer one that will work?

The Jeff Mort!? I remember your vids on ronron. You must be mad fast these days with a steed like that, and you have "your guy" at a shop. Laughing
