straight up:
to be honest, to not lie, to not hide things behind other's backs.
Seems like most replies so far argue back and forth over whether Reed changes his setup too much.

Webb's statements are up for interpretation, which part did he say 'straight up'?

Wasn't it Villipoto that said he'd find a solid baseline setting and just leave it there most of the season. I'd imagine that he'd slightly tweak things each weekend, but I gather he would find a solid setting and just ride around any small issues.

Broda, oh wise one. Remember your words, "Everyday is arm day, bro." To which I now must add, "Everyday is coffee first, bro."

I would like to hear where anyone said this. Show me where it is stated or you will need to take 5th grade reading over again unfortunately.

Lol. Chad has reached the top of the mountain before, and is just always working to try to return to it.

All of it. I thought he was being pretty honest. Maybe you guys have a different definition of what straight up is?

I'm pretty sure no one is doubting Cooper's honesty.

Clearly.

Cooper didn't remotely say what you think he said.

You guys make me laugh. Reading comprehension seems to be lacking with this post. The only thing Webb said straight up is that his bike worked well in practice and not so well at the races, and that his bike is setup quite a bit differently than Chad's. Nowhere in that post is he calling out Chad or saying anything about changing the rider instead of the bike. Tomac basically said the same thing, made some changes, and started crushing it. Bike setup matters when you are talking tenths of a second.

I didn't think he was calling out Reed! I thought he was just telling us about their programs! Straight up, honestly.

I thought was interesting that he is another rider who is saying their practice set up is off race set up.

I agree. I think the title is misleading though. Straight up seems to infer that he's being brutally honest/calling someone out or sharing some super secret info. Doghouse was right, what Webb said wasn't what many people in this post thought he said.

It is interesting to know why some are struggling more than others, but having setup issues at the first few rounds is nothing new.

That's what I thought, some have a different definition of straight up than me. So I changed the title.

That's a BS myth. The 4 stroke has made riders better these days. I bet half these guys could not get aroubd the track on a 2 stroke.

so webb is sticking with a setup and tries to adapt to it as the season goes on (like roczen does too) and reed is testing the fuck out of everything( like dungey does too). neither one has to be THE right way to do it. just two different approaches. I really don't get the problem here.

No problem, I was just pointing out the difference but which rider would you want to be the suspension guy for? Smile

Woohoo
The sh!t some of you guys come up with.

I don't think Webb was dogging Reed in any way.

Still don't know why Reed didn't make the changes he thought would be better for him on his practice bikes and use them at his personal practice track early in the off season. He had more time to get ready this year than any year in quite some time.

What held him back, he's never been afraid to speak up or cross the line if he thought he was right. If the changes worked he could show them the results, or did he do so and still got shut down? It's kind of hard to imagine him not speaking out earlier if that was the case.

Hasn't Goose been on record saying a time or two that Reed just needs to get out there and ride the bike and quit messing with it so much? It might be just me, but it seems Reed rides way harder to improve his position when he is in the top 5 rather than when he is mid pack or worse.

It's more fun to watch when he is towards the front and in attack mode.

Well, I could say "some riders understand the value of testing, others just don't get it".
I didn't say one was right or wrong but the bias is clearWink
