Don't they have spotters at the top of the dune to let them know if it's a go or no go?

That was insane. Just a few feet short of that and I can't even imagine the carnage that would of caused. It's a good thing the guy in the Jeep was paying attention and applied the brakes at the last minute at least.

Probably would be dead.

For sure, this guy got lucky very lucky. Or if he would have landed couple feet shorter he would have went over the bars face first into the sand at that speed..

I'm sure they thought the biker was going to fly OVER the jeeps...then he didn't jump as far as he thought he would...

I can't sympathize with anyone who fits a thumb throttle to anything other than a lawnmower

The spotters were too busy filming to actually spot. Maybe the thumb throttle is because of a wrist injury. He seems like the kind of guy that could have some jacked up wrists. Maybe from punching his "Spotters" Laughing So who pays for the jeeps hood ? My guess is the jeep owner. If push came to shove legally the jeeps should've had flags no ? Not that it would have made any difference....

Yes spotters should of been watching ,but the Jeeps are dumb fucks also. You drive up and dudes are off bikes spotting, pretty obvious guys are jumping. The Jeep people at the dunes are dumber than the quad guys!

Well the dunes have had some really really bad accidents in the past. It is either a small crash or a massive one.

My friends son was on his CR85 about 10 years ago at Glamis. Dude on a CR450f was not looking on a jump like that and landed on him. Guy just rode off and never looked back. Damn near killed my friends son.Had to airlift him out. Collapsed lung, broke both arms it was bad.

Hell don't give feld any ideas they'll go full monster jam where the whoops are junk cars and the finish line is a bus

I've had some of the most fun ever riding in the dunes and some of the most dangerous "almost" situations as well.
We avoided the holiday and crowded weekends.
Even when the place has low attendance, the risk can be damn scary. Each passing riding session through the weekend made my balls grow a little more, 4th gear through a section instead of 3rd, hold throttle a tad longer.

I loved every minute of it, but I've been done for years and happy to come away unscathed.
