I went on a trail ride on my XR200R, and my mate has just bought himself a CRF450X.
Holy shit!
I've never ridden a 450 before, and that things nuts!
on my 200 i have to do a bit of work to get the front end up, but on that thing its effortless.
the biggest bike i have ridden previously was dad's DRZ400E and i thought that was powerful.
P.S i still kept up to him.

My son has a 450X and i recently sold my 250X. His 450 will do everything my CRF450R will do on the MX track but you do notice the weight after a while. I love that thing in the woods and really for overall use its tits! I bet you get one soon..Smile

Bullshit on the mx part. Unless you race C class no way in hell is that tank ass pig getting the holeshot.

Yes i am talking about Vet or C class here in MN D-23. I raced my 250X successfully many times and i even got a few good starts with it! But i did do all the typical mods including a CRF exhaust, high lift cam, air box mod removal of kickstand and lights and gearing changes. The X bikes are pretty good all around rides if you do everything but road race.

the "r" and the "x" arent that drastically different. minor mods and you have a basic "r" model. In fact, kdub and several others had ran an "x" head to smooth out the power delivery with the smaller valves, and honda ran "x" radiators on most of their bikes because of the increased cooling capacity.

230's are cool to. Great trail bikes.

I have to admit my 450 albeit an R, is pretty close to an X. Id like the button. My SX track days are far behind me. GP days are all I do now.

Yep i forgot about the magic button.. and i at one point i put a horn on my 250X to make it street legal so i could ride it 10 miles to my track. It was a kick to honk the horn on the track when i came up on another vet to pass!
