Well, I don't know what's going on with Chad, but Villo was closer to Chad than Chad was to James....

Daytona will be a good race for him. But those two are both stronger riders this year. Next year I suspect Ryan will be stronger. Even if Ryan got to the first turn two seconds ahead, looking at the past races, James and Chad will pass him. I would take the bet that Ryan has a better chance of winning Las Vegas then any other race.

It could happen, Dungey & Weimer beat J-Law this weekend because he wasn't there.Woohoo

Kid looked good tonight Uncleof2.

He and Reed looked like they were tied together with a string for 15 laps.

Your saying: Ryan for win at Daytona? No place, no show. Win.
The bet: $20 to a Moto cause? As we get closer, we can hash that out.

No, I was saying if he did get a win it would be there. Betting aginst James and Chad is dumb. But if it was to happen, and James had the points, that is Ryans best chance. But I will put $20 up for a Moto Cause that Ryan wins Daytona. Id love to see Ryan get a win and make a donation to some cause that needs it. Its a win overall.

Villopoto DESTROYED Reed at MXDN this year and has gotten stronger every single round in supercross this year-exactly as I predicted. What you have to remember is that Reed has been riding/racing on the big bikes now for 8 YEARS indoor and out, and Stewart has been riding/racing them for 4 YEARS indoor and out.

Villopoto would have beaten Reed in Houston if not for his solo little go down, and he showed last night that he has already improved his speed to be very, very close to Reed's. I continue to believe Villopoto will get faster every race as he becomes more acustomed to the power of the 450 and is more able to exploit its power and hang it out over the edge without going over his head. I DON"T believe this will occur NEXT YEAR but is occuring right before our eyes THIS YEAR.

As for the outdoors Reed has very little chance to hang with Villopoto as the MXDN proved last year. Villopto prefers the great outdoors (as did the GOAT) and wil be completely up to speed and out of Reed's reach by then. Stewart and Villopoto will be close to each other in speed outdoors, assuming Stewart shows that he has any guts whatsoever by riding the outdoors and defending his championship against a worthy challenger--as the GOAT did SIX times on THREE different brands.

As I wrote in mid-January:

"Ryan Villopoto

2005
AMA Horizon Award Winner
Pro Debut Binghamton 15th
Steel City 5th
Glen Helen 2nd

2006
AMA Supercross/Motocross Rookie of the Year
AMA Supercross Lites West--3rd
AMA National Outdoor Lites Champion
Team USA FIM Motocross des Nations MX2 Champion

2007
AMA Supercross Lites West Champion, wins 7 of 8 events
AMA National Outdoor Lites Champion
Team USA FIM Motocross des Nations MX2 Champion. Becomes first rider ever to win both motos on a 250f against 450f machines.

2008
AMA Supercross Lites West--2nd overall, almost wins with a wrist injury and 1st race DNF.
AMA National Outdoor Lites Champion, wins 19 of 24 motos. Joins Mark Barnett and Ricky Carmichael as the only 3 time champions.
Team USA FIM Motocross des Nations MX2 Champion

9 pro championships entered
7 pro championships won
A hunger for winning.

No problems with drugs/alcohol
No problems with teams
No problems with sponsors
No problems with fans
No problems with overbearing parents

Does not whine but is not afraid to voice his opinion when he feels strongly about something and then lets it go.

Avid hunter and gun collector. Goes to Alaska and Africa for big game safaris to celebrate his championships.

2 races into his 450 debut season, he's still getting the feel for an entirely new bike and level of power and he sits in a tie for 5th in the points, with Tedesco only 3 points ahead. My guess is when he gets comforable with the power of that weapon he's been given in that fuel-injected factory KXF450, his "supercross only" rivals may be singing the blues. And his outdoor rivals may feel much worse."
