I am quite sure the AMA didn't want that little nugget of Busch league management broadcast to the world.

Instantaneous decisions should be followed by immediate notification.

Agreed. Not handled properly. They should have had a printed off form of the judgement ready to hand to the team and Anderson of the ruling. They had plenty of time to make an assessment and discuss with Anderson.

Yeah AMA is a joke. What do we need them for if they can't even inform the riders/teams of their decisions?
1/22/2017 6:28am
Notifying the media before the rider is a bad look for the AMA.

But be careful though, criticizing John Gallagher is a click-able offense on here.

May not have been handled properly, but Taft is doing a great job of reporting and not just rehashing words a producer shouts in the earpiece ala Erin Bates. Speaking of which, where did she end up? Monster trucks?

Agreed. Jenny has been great this year so far asking real, pertinent questions, not just "so how was the track?" Keep up the great reporting Jenny!

Shouldn't be any instant DQ's barring Peick going hulk smash. End of story.

It fucking amateur that one person can end a rider's season, a team's effort and a sponsor's investment, on the spot, with no recourse.

In this case, a fair review would probably cite Friese's mechanic pushing back, why no penalty there? It would probably at least discuss the move and Friese's history. Friese's side could retort Anderson does the same thing. You know, a discussion...

Even if you agree with the DQ, how anyone can argue that we wouldn't be better with a 3 person panel reviewing on monday, with representation from the teams and riders – like, you know, a professional multi-million dollar series – is beyond me.

Would've liked to of been a fly on the wall for that convo between Jenny and El Hombre... Sounded like his initial reaction went from "what? nah.." to "WTF?!?"

Had to of been awkward as hell for Jenny.

Couldn't agree more. There's far too many things to consider to make a rash decision. And lots on the line too. Best thing would've been to let him race then let a jury decide on Monday morning. Guilty and his points are revoked. But an instant DQ means you can't go back if needed.

Friese didn't do anything that wasn't just done to him in the previous corner. Anderson just got some karma back from years past. The DQ is stupid. There are other means of discipline, fines, points, erase results from previous race etc.

Stupid move on Anderson's part, both on the track and off.

Probably doesn't help that there was a meeting the morning before the race between Feld and the team's about mainstream media and professionalism...on and off the track. Vince got pushed around a lot last night and it was racing...what Jason Anderson did afterwards wasn't and after Weston's deal last year there's been a real "zero tolerance" for attacking another rider in any way. In those case, review tape was easy to see and the penalty is to remove him from that night of racing. Personally, I didn't have a problem with them pulling the trigger on the penalty. These guys go through their media training, they know not to pull stuff like that but a lot of guys get pissy at each other and try to start stuff in the tunnels. Always makes me shake my head....

Yeah that one person who fucked up Anderson's season has a name. His name is Jason Anderson.

It's he's responsibility to keep his cool and he didn't do that. Bummed for him but that's life. He should know better. Especially after all the aggressive riding he's dished out. He acted very immature.

My definition of attack doesn't include a smack on the HELMET for taking me out. This is an emotional sport, Freise has a bad reputation, but I seriously doubt he would have wanted them to DQ Anderson. I will say for the most part Friese may race like a bonehead sometimes, but he never waivers from his stance of "that's racing". Bad call by whoever makes these on the fly decisions. Not deserving of a DQ IMO.

Watching Jason eat shit in the tunnel after his "bitch slap" was punishment enough for me. Grinning

Not defending Anderson's move, or his hissy fit at a guy who pulled a move he has recently been more than guilty of... I'm sure Brayton is having a chuckle somewhere....

TX, yeah, he slapped a dude. He shouldn't have. But really. So fucking what! It's on the minor scale of minor. Talk about killing a fly with a shotgun. I'm sure Rockstar and Husky are PUMPED on their investment being kicked in the nuts for a clip on the back of a retard's helmet. 20m further up the tunnel and it's out of sight and no issue - which is an issue!

ML, great. But how are we doing media training about professionalism with bondage titties and ass all over the podium? Are we buttoned up or down? Where's the penalty for SmartConcept's Mechanic? And aren't we at a point where Friese is on some sort of leash?

Again, review at a later time with a case plead by the teams and riders involved. The fact the SmartConcepts mech got off is EXACTLY why this should be the case.

Maybe Feld should set up safe places riders can ride to after each race too .

The only argument about the mechanic is he was just trying to fend off Anderson.

not saying it was right or wrong.

Any contact between riders is no tolerance, doesn't matter if it's a slug or a slap.

Feld is worried about professionalism yet the sanctioning body at their races cannot even notify a rider of his punishment before a pit reporter has to tell the rider their fate? Haha what a joke.

If you put your hands on someone you can be arrested for it, so why can't you get dq'd for it?
1/22/2017 8:22am
This is getting stupid. What's next? Mandatory hand holding in and out of the stadium?

Would've been great if the cameras were rolling when she told him that....So journalist, can we get an answer why he had to learn it thru the pit reporter and not AMA themselves?

I agree. I don't like the rule. I would not have DQd him for that. A fine would have been enough.

This sport has become Busch league. Nothing that FIM does should fucking surprise anybody anymore. It was a bullshit takeout that lead to a weak DQ.
