SM Pro Platinum vs Excel A60 vs Talon hubs and wheels

Ok, I'm looking for wheels, I've had Excel Takasago and A60 before. Im looking to make a switch from the crf 450-16 original wheels and hub. Whats your take on things, anyone you def should avoid or are all of em decent enough for the average weekend warrior?

A60 or Dirtstar STX are definitely the strongest.. If you want to be bold and try something new have a look at the Marchesini wheels that are available now. Very trick looking with a unique 32-spoke nipple-less design. I would guess that they will be super light.

I don't think that you could go wrong with any of them. Personally, I have had SMPro with bulldog spokes and they are great. IMO....buy rims and spokes and have them laced on your stock hubs.

Did ltx with bulldog spokes, nfi hubs,. Dunlop mx32,. That being said, OEM are plenty good. But always nice to have a sick wheelset. On my 15 crf450.

A friend had the Marchesini wheels on his Honda 450.

Probably the most trick wheels i have ever seen. Although A60s with Talon carbon hubs is also very, very trick.

And to the OP. I had SMpro/Haan wheels on my RM 250. Good wheels for a decent price!

I've had awesome results with Excel takasagos and also A60s. I just have my first set of DID stx on my 125 and those are awesome so far as well.

I've been running SM Pro Wheels with excellent results for the last 2yrs. I would more then recommend them. Yes, they are lighter then A60s and the jury is still out whether they are stronger, but nearly 300hrs on my set and there are no flat spots to be found...

I really like my faster usa wheels. Those guys ride dirt bikes and takencare of their customers. Plus their wheels and machined in-house in SoCal.

I sent them a rear wheel to relace and he called and said the bearings needed replacement so he did that at no charge (parts and labor!!!). I wont buy wheels anywhere else.

Im running the dirt star ltx rims with bull dog spline drive spokes on tcr hubs. A very light and strong combinatiin for motocross. Offroaders like the dirt star stx which is stronger and a little heavier. I got the rims and spokes on sale on amazon.
