Did anyone else notice the difference in the gate dropping this year? it use to make a loud "clunk" when it dropped, now i have noticed a big air sound, like the gate is now air activated or hydraulic. Anyone know what has changed?

...just a random insomnia induced thought. Whistling

I noticed the same thing. I just though that I never noticed it before though.

Someone showed it on IG. I think a story though because I can't find it now. There was definitely what looked like a large hydraulic cylinder in the middle, I figured for picking it back up.

I did notice the TV special effect/sound/flash where the area under the gate lights up like a disco floor before the gate drops ..

Sounds like the T shirt cannon going off.

They should have a light like the BMX races that is in connection with the gate so these guys can all have a consistent gate. Would eliminate the suprise of the sideways 30sec card but make for some great first turn action and really push these guys to the limit with their gate timing.

I did also noticed a huge piece of the gate flying back at the start of one of the races in SD. I assumed it was part of the graphics on the front of the gate but wasnt sure. Anyone know what this was?

The most prestigious series in the states is now using technology that local tracks have used for years.

I saw a picture somewhere the other day and there is a small pressure tank hooked to a pneumatic ram which operates the gate now. Like someone said, the local tracks have been doing it this way for ever since I can remember. It seems to drop the gate smoother than the mechanical lever style drop.

I've noticed Stater Bros girls asses are nicer than Walmarts girls.

Staters cart pushers have to collect and push the carts. Walmarts has the machine to push the carts.

This has no relevance to the gate, except Ms Supercross could probably squat the gate. And push a hundred carts. Doing it by hand must be too hard of work for the entitled.

What i noticed when standing at the gate on track stumble was ever 3rd gate you can see the pipe that rotates to drop the gates. I guess it is sectioned and bolts together there.

But, I'd be picking one of those gates if not beside the doghouse.
