If I have to go into southern Wet Vagina "west virginia" it should be fun... we don't run tire chains... fuck this... I got stuck at the loading docks last night in edinboro , Pa storm near lake erie... semi won't fucking go empty...

most walmart loading docks are a down hill pit to back down and bang the dock...
Tip 1: Carry a couple bags of cement/gravel pre-mix with you, toss it under the drives, after you scape a bit away with your shovel.
Tip 2: Don't just dump the clutch, thinking it'll spin. It won't, but it will dump your driveshaft out, after it bites like it's dry asphalt.
Just another useful tidbit, from yer ol' pal scooter, 35 years of this fuckin shit. I had to use 3 wheel lock to get out of the Wal Mart in Erie Wed. night, and I had 46K on. One thing to be happy about, with this Pete I ordered for the oil patch.

This is one of our former news anchors. I think she did traffic and filled in at the desk when needed.

I don't need no stinking 4 wheel drive! Just loaded up 3 bundles of roofing shingles on a pallet in the bed of my 2wd truck. Haven't gotten stuck yet. Changes the weight bias so it handles better too.

A few times around the Buffalo area ,they let people with snowmobiles help deliver medicine and take nurses to and from the hospital . It was fun for sure but I just had a blast bombing through the city on a snowmobile.

figure that i didnt need to start a new thread for this..

taking the wife on a snowboarding trip. it probably isnt going to snow while we are up on the mountain. but i rather be prepared then not, because it seems to me that places dont carry chains for my truck 285/75r16 and if they do they will try and rape me with the mark up.

thos of you who know a thing or two about snow driving. should i get chains with the cams or tighteners(bungee cords)?

That would be rad! We have a couple feet coming over the next couple days about 45 minutes south . I still have my suspension sitting on the garage floor waiting to get worked on.

Cams, without question. Bungees as well. You could look into Snow Socks as well, but they are a little spendy, compared to chains. A lot easier to mount, and lighter, though.

You want a snow rush, get a 40s dodge car hood, wax it,find the biggest hill ,drag it up on top,

Then find a good yellow pine limb about 2 inches thick 3 feet long to use as a rudder.

Hop on and slide over the edge. 70 mph on a 200 lb car hood gets the pucker effect up there.

We got 5 feet last night. 4 more predicted.
Int 80 was closed for a while. Warms storms mean epic dumps.

No weak 4 stroke snowbikes for this. Bring out the big 2 stroke horses.

Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 8 AM PST Thursday.
Severe Avalanche Warnings in Effect until further notice.

Almost 5 feet of new snow has been recorded at lower elevation reporting stations below 6,000 feet as of 6 AM this morning.
SnoTel data is recording significantly more at various locations in the Sierra central and Northern Sierras.

Timing: Heavy snow will continue until early Thursday morning.
Additional snow accumulations: 24-36 inches at lower elevations below 6,000 feet with 3-4 feet additional above 7000 feet. 4-6 Feet additional snow over 9,000 feet possible
10 plus feet of new snow is highly likely as the moisture track is predicted to stay in line.
Winds: Wind gusts up to 65 mph in the lower elevations and gusts of 80 to 100 mph across Sierra Ridgetops below 8,000 feet.
Gusts over 150 MPH have been recorded at the highest ridges.

Backcountry slopes will be heavily wind loaded with potential severe avalanche conditions.
Impacts: dangerous conditions for travel and outdoor activities. Whiteout conditions are occurring over mountain passes and areas exposed to gusty winds.

Its 43 above right now at the house and dumping snow with silver dollar sized flakes.

The upper air must be cold because it was 52 and snow on the way. Turned to snow about 2500 feet. We are 6000 feet

I'm a Californian, living in the Medford area, relocated from Mississippi. I'm driving a lowered Focus with no chains and made it to work no problem. My boss is from Michigan driving a 4x4 Tundra and he's still not in.

I did hear that Oregonians suck in the snow, though.

Our fresh snow is deeper than that car is tall.
I had snow coming over the hood this AM on the 3500.

Its still 43 degrees and dumping. Its not much colder up high, so this snow will surely help with our drought.

I just finished unloading fertilizer in a -35C windchill. I can't feel my face, I assume it's still there.
