I've got a new baby boy headed into the world sooner than later and was cleaning out the room that will be his tonight. I found a stack of photos from Cycle Ranch dated May 2004. Travis and Robbie showed up at the four stroke nationals that year about two weeks before the AMA nationals started at Glen Helen. Both of them were hauling ass and mixing gas that day. Travis' bike was factory as it could get and Robbie's was a clapped out POS KX250. He gave TP all he could handle in the second moto until the engine went boom. The rod was hanging out of the crankcase. Still one of the best races I've seen in person. 20 plus mins of plastic trading.
On a side note look at the track! This place is epic. The past few months as been rocky but lets hope it makes a serious comeback.

Classic Robbie style check.
I hope you have as much fun as I do with my son and great nephew. They are both about 3 yrs old.
It keeps getting more fun so far.
Congratulations

That was a great day.
Robbie and Travis were close each time they took the track. You can see Robbie's right elbow just above Travis' right knee in the first picture.
Robbie's front fender in this one.
Travis' ride.
Calling the action.
I never saw him race in person. Wish I had a time machine to go see him, McGrath, and David Bailey racing.

Damon Bradshaw and Weston Peick recently did a ride day at Cycle Ranch. It was so good! They were great to be around, very cool and down to earth. I hope they keep doing it each year. The track has been so good lately. Lots of effort being put into the place! The night track is a lot of fun as well!
Gear throws me back to the MCM2 days.
Ive ridden Cycle Ranch once in my life, and I have to say it might have been the single best dirt I have ever been blessed enough to set two wheels on.
Coming from CA, its common place for tracks to be good first thing in the morning and by noon be damn near blue groove.......The moment we parked we started scrambling to get gear on and rode lap after lap after lap, thinking the loam would fade.
It never did fade, but our arms sure as hell did.
We just kept riding until we both damn near met God from not being able to hold onto the bars any longer. When we finally called it a day it took both of us to load up each 125 & I am not even sure they were tied down properly as we had zero strength to pull down on the straps.
That being said, Cycle Ranch is a gift straight out of Moto Heaven & I damn sure hope to get another run at it one day.
I remember Travis said Robbie and KDub were the only two riders he felt he could never beat if they were riding to their full potential.
