I'm really impressed with Jake's comments on this board. He's a true professional for rising above the haters.

You are often brought up on Pulp with you finishing 10th place in Supercross last year and left with no ride, in comparison to quite a few unproven 250 riders who are happily making decent salaries while racing half the series. I'm curious to find out what you think of the ideas tossed around of doing something to limit the exposure of what's considered the "stepping stone" class, making 250's run full 17 rounds with no pointing out, or something else.
That is a really difficult discussion and honestly I don't really know. As far as "unproven" 250 riders I think that statement is a little unfair. They have to have a chance in order to prove themselves OR not. Not many step into SX their first year and have immediate success. If I was eligible to ride the 250 class I am sure there would have been a good chance of me getting a good ride but is that fair? Idk it"s tough cause I think along with many others there needs to be some changes but I am just not sure exactly what that is.

I was contacted about it but the deal just wasn't for me. No harm no foul.
New album isn't my favorite one but I like it.

Hey Jake, no questions really here. Just wishing you the best. I remember the first time you came on my radar, was 04/05?? You came to an arenacrash in Northwest Montana. Pretty crazy to see a small town kid make the big show with the results you've had. Cheers

Honestly, how many top pro's come on here, POST UNDER THEIR OWN NAME and answer questions honestly about their situation? Virtually none.

Instead of bagging on everyone and everything, how about we do something productive and help Jake get to the races?

Side note: Not to piss all over my own party but I am broke as balls (hookers and blow) so my contribution would only be minor. However if everyone chimed in, I believe we could make something happen.

How cool would it be right?

I'm okay with the idea If there's actually a reason for it. (Like Jake actually wants to go racing on his own, and there's a targeted goal to reach to make it worthwhile).

As a side note, what if something like this did happen, and then Jake gets a fill-in ride with a team? I'd assume many/most would want their money back. That would get sticky.

I don't want to be a downer on it, but I also wouldn't want to get it fired up if there's no intent to use it as you guys are talking about.
I'm sure it could be set up in some way that the money raised is spent race by race, with the requirement that Jake posts about all the stuff he spends the money on. For example let's say 5K to get Jake at A1 on a VitalMX bike (assuming he can keep riding his RCH Suzuki), and then go from there. It would involve some work, but it would be awesome.

Music bands are sticking their middle fingers out to corporate labels and are releasing albums 100% funded by their fans, so why wouldn't a likable MX/SX rider be able to do something comparable? The first crowd-funded MX/SX rider.

The real question is, would it be something JW is actually interested in doing?

Hey all,
I saw GuyB at the test track today and he told me there was a pretty sweet thread about me on here and being's I did a Q&A a while back I figured I would stop by and shoot the shit with you all and let you know what is going on. I have been riding SX and training. RCH has been helping with a bike and keeping me riding but there is no further plan as of today. My focus right now is to be ready and I try not to think about anything else.
I will answer any questions you guys have for me. I will clear a few up right now. I am not sure all of you understand how difficult it is to do it all on your own. Bike, mechanic, Travel, etc. If you average 10th for 17 rounds of SX that is $41,310.00 . You can hire a mechanic that " I " would call reliable for around 40K. So you are about even at that point. Gear money, Believe you me when I tell you there is a big difference in the pay from factory rider vs privateer. I know. I have gone the privateer route. I believe you can be competitive on a non factory bike but the truth is, its very expensive! Ideally you would have a money guy (sponsor, super fan, etc). Point is that it's not that simple to "just do it yourself". Also, yes I do have certain stipulations. I want to race with a feeling that I can be better than I was yesterday and I have a chance to better myself. Im not 18 and don't have 10 years to prove myself. My personal feeling is that I know what I am capable of accomplishing given the right circumstance, short of that I am not willing to do it. It's a dangerous sport and I am not willing to do it "just to be there". I have seen a bit about me possibly not having a ride due to me wanting more money, that is not the case. I could go on for a while. If you have questions let me know. I would be happy to answer them.
Jake
Have you approached Meluleauca at all? They are also in eastern Idaho.

Now this ^^^^ is the important stuff here guys!!! Greatest band ever, A Day to Remember.....Jake lets keep it light with this question and go with what's Jake's fav ADTR song???

On the other issue I know you will find a ride as you're one of the greats in this sport and the reason we love it and love watching it.

Jake, I remember your QnA here. You were pure class. I hope things work out for you.

I'd be happy to contribute to a Jake Weimer "Go Fund Me" deal. Someone set it up and I'll be there. Personally, I don't need Jake to account for it. Spend it on racing is all I would ask, and I wouldn't need any money back no matter how it was spent.
