elf on the shelf?

This is our first year doing it for my 3.5 year old son. Im excited for to watch my sons face light up. The Elf is going to arrive tonight when i get off work. A family member is going to act like Santa and call him to tell him he has sent the elf. he will be bringing a small Christmas tree with lights for him to put in his room as a secondary night light.

anyone else do this?

We do it. My wife is the creative one. She got a few different outfits for him.

yeah my wife is the creative one also! growing up i lived my pops was a grinch. so making sure my son gets to experience all this stuff.

Good on you! Even though he may not know it now, he will appreciate things like this that his dad did for him.

please do all your friends and family a service and don't post the picture of the elf every day on IG or FB.

i love the idea of the elf, the kids love it, but i don't need to sit and look at elves in precarious situations every time i get on. just don't. this thread will suffice though.
