James has had no less than four big crashes this year and the subsequent injuries that go along with them. Two of which were not his fault for the most part. There is transparency with every racer in the sport and James is no exception. A little criticism I can understand, but that is not the case. And if people talk shit constantly because James isn't meeting their expectations, then they need to reassess their expectations. You make some good points, but your football analogy is irrelevant in my opinion, because football is a team sport and quarterback is the most important position. Whether James lines up or not does not really even matter at this point.
So when someone doesn't meet expectations we lower the standard? Isn't that the bulk of what's wrong with society today? Rather than expecting someone to rise to the occasion, we will lower the expectations so everyone can be a winner.

No, you lower your expectations, because James is 30 years old. He hasn't been the James of old for years and he never will be again. It's reality. You can either be rational and lower your expectations or talk shit on Vital, because he doesn't meet them. Laughing I can understand criticism and he definitely deserves some, but a lot of people go beyond criticism.

I just used that as an example to show how a great person (Manning) can get a lot of criticism for his current poor play, even though he is one of the best ever. I agree with you that the comparison is not the same, but only because Manning never stopped putting in the hard work. He just got old and his body failed him. But he never stopped preparing. That's pretty much the opposite of James. He was not fit for A1 even though he had time off to get ready. James said he would be ready. He wasn't. So he has to deal with the criticisms. That's life. He's a big boy. He knows the rules.

This is all water under the bridge at this point. It is what it is.

I look forward to watching him if he races. If he decides to retire then I wish him all the best.

I agree with all of that. Race or retire, good luck to him.

It's the American mentality combined with the internet, if you're not winning races you are shit and corvette is better than gtr.

I think James is ashamed of his fall from Grace and is willing to make up excuses, I believe he's been hit on the head too many times and he's afraid to admit that he's suffered from his concussions.

I believe he's pulling off mid races because he cannot focus, the crash he had on the straight away over the corner was very telling it's as if he forgot he was on a bike.

You guys should check out Dr Rhonda Patrick take on concussions it opens up eyes on what happens to the human brain when suffering from head impacts.

I agree 100% with your post.

"It's the American mentality" Fuck outta here with that holier than thou BS.

People all around the world are saying good things and bad things about certain riders. But you can join the circle jerk if it really does make you feel better.

Show me a pic of him unfit at A1..

I stood next to him and he most definitely was not unfit as many here claim. He simply took a different approach to his training for the overall betterment of his racing and health. His season was then abruptly ended during an unfortunate racing incident

I have a feeling you falling out of your chair is a fairly common occurrence.

Where I grew up you learned respect the old fashioned way. If you ran your mouth you very likely would have someone shut it for you with a fist. So you learned not to talk shit for no reason and have respect for others. Sadly those days are gone! and with the lack of consequences, so is the basic respect for others.
This made me lol. The average pro racer is 5'8 at best and 140lbs wet. They would have to have their entourage do something for them cause I can't see one out their who can fight. Weston Pike "hit you with a helmet on" included.
