have we seen James come from last to 2nd or even last to 1st? Answer: several. That feat has been done time and time again by the man who won tonight. All this Reed love is making me nauseousWink

Yeah but how many times have we seen anyone close 13 secs up to Stewart in a SX race?

Stewart did not look comfortable. He was making small baubbles in a number of areas on the track. Reed was fast, few more laps he would have caught #7. Some of the rhythm sections Reed was very smooth vs James. Good race.

Never happened until now...the time it took 7 to get into the lead would suggest he aint got it anymore and probably very relieved that race is over. He'll have some fear and loathing going into next week.

From all i've heard it was quite an impressive charge considering the track was extremely tough to pass on.. As well as Reed turning quicker laps then bubba while coming through traffic

Don't know what you girls are bitching about.  Reed looks a lot closer to Stewart than he ever did.  Reed dials the starts and Stew makes one mistake, Reed could easily defend the title.  And, two new kids (RV and JG) are showing us the future.  KW is even making a podium, which is fantastic.Best SX racing I've seen in a few years.

Exactly how fast should you go if you're out in front and there is nobody left to pass?????

Exactly. The first time Reed passes James and keeps him back there will be the first time anyone other than Ricky has done it. I think Reed has got it in him this year.
We can bitch about the Yamaha or rave about the Suzuki but it is something.

Like I said last week, I'm not a Reed fan, but on the TV he looks like he may have Stewart this year. JBS does not look like he can control the YZ like he did the KX, and the RM change for Reed looks like a blessing. Just what I've seen.

Well, off the top of my head. San Diego 2006. Reed even got the holeshot, Mcgrath punted James off the track in the first turn and James was dead last and came back and passed Reed in 5 laps. So there, go watch itWink I'm sure I will think of moreTongue

I agree that the team switches have had opposite effects. Reed looks perfectly comfortable on the 'zook and Stewart looks uncomfortable on the yam.
IMO this is to date the best chance for Reed to do what needs to be done and that is beat Stewart in a series they both complete.
Its not Reeds fault that his 2 titles came when RC and Stewart were sidelined but he is never gonna get full champion respect until he beats J.S while both are on the track.

Reed's a great rider, and I respect his riding ability, but this is correct - Stewart has owned him since Unadilla 2002 (which I thought was a jerk move on James' part) and until Reed beats him in a series, Stewart still owns him.

There was a heat race in 06 that Stewart went down on the start and ran Reed down and won the heat. RCM is 100% correct.
