Be best to go out like on the 7th or 9th because of the moon washing out the sky on the 11th 12th .

Shame its so close to full moon this year.

I saw several last night about 11pm ,the numbers per hour will increase as we get deeper into the debri field of the comet.

And,the early morning hours are best since that puts the sky above you faced on to the direction earth is traveling around the sun.

I need to make my way out to the country here in a few nights and watch this. Saw one about 5yrs ago at a buddies house that lives in the middle of no where.....was pretty damn incredible to see. Saw a few bigger ones that looked like they might of made it all the way to the ground.

Going to try a load up the kids and head up on a nearby hill. Should be cool.

I was out in Rocky Mountain National Park camping this time last year during one of the big showers. Camping at about 10,000 feet, it was the most spectacular thing I'd ever seen. There were seriously 4-5 every minute for a solid half hour, sometimes multiple ones at a time. All kinds of colors too, it was awesome.

I too was blown away when I first moved here from a farm in Delta, Ohio yep, not far from the Famed Moto track.
The view is tremendous when you get far away from lights and up over 8,000ft it's chilling to be honest. If you ever get a chance make your plans to be in the Mountains during a camping trip on a clear night. You and your Family will remember it for the rest of your life.

Record for me in one night is 23 shooting Stars, 8 satellites and numerous meteor/UFO sightings. Unidentified because we couldn't figure out what we saw..Grinning

LMAO. Voting here now is nothing but a comedic shit show.

They all suck so bad that this kind of stuff is created. I wonder if a 4th grade math class could balance our budget? Surely couldn't do any worse.

The moon is going to be a big problem,it set about 11 last nite and sets about an hour later each nite.

If you have clear sky I'd go out tonite. I like to go out at sunset and watch the satellites go by,they are best seen just after sunset because the angle of sun is best for reflecting the light,as it gets darker you will see numerous unblinking star like lights moving thru the starfield.

Saturn,Jupiter, mars will appear first as the sunsets along the suns path with Venus just above the west horizon setting not long after the sun.

The milkyway is overhead with the northern cross laying longways in its line.

Find the big dipper in the north, the 2 stars of the side opposite the handle point out the north star. Go 3 fist widths at arms length in line with those 2 stars and that is the north star.

It never moves ,the sky rotates around it and it is the last star in the handle of the little dipper.
